In public, at Buffalo Wild Wings. She came up and said Wow, look at all those rolls! Hi fatty! I bet you don't miss any meals.

I wanted to respond that we should order before she ate everything in the restaurant (she was by no stretch of the imagination slim) but I restrained myself.

That's just wrong! I HATE the word fat and fatty is even worse! Why would you call anyone, even a baby, fat???

Chubby, plump, healthy, even the "you don't miss too many meals" comments also bug me, but not nearly as much as someone calling a child fat. UGH!

He looks about as fat as my DS who is in the 3rd percentile. I get comments all the time that my 9 month old looks "so big" when he weighs 15lbs and is still wearing 3-6 month clothes (even when you could see his ribs and his arms were super skinny - reflux & FTT

). I think people just don't realize what a normal size for babies is.

I can't believe she called him a fatty - it's amazing that anyone would actually say that to someones face.

I'm always amazed when people comment about how big Tegan is for an 11 month old. She's in the 25th percentile for height and weight, people, that's not big. Most people have NO CLUE what a baby should look like at any given age.

sometimes you shouldn't use restraint. i'm suuuuch a smart a**. when people open up the gates like that...they better hold on to their hats after unsolicited comments.
