4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? They changed last year since Chritsmas was so close to my due date. We're happy keeping it this way for the time being.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? This year we are starting with Christmas jammies on Christmas Eve, putting the tree up thanksginving sunday and taking our christmas picture. We always do Christmas morning brunch with the same things on the menu.

4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? technically no only because had set our plans since before DS was born and carried them out as a marrie couple
5. What holiday traditions do you have? We have Christmas Eve with both sets of our parents at one of our parents houses (its a fun and nice lil tradition we've started and makes it nice and easy on us) then we sleep at our hosue Christmas Eve and wake up and do our Christmas at home and then go to either the IL's or my parents after for breakfast and to celebrate with that family and then the opposite family for dinner and to celebrate.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? DH only has a sister and she's single so we get her a gift, but on my side of the family I'm one of 4 kids and 3 of us are married now so we draw names in November and we each get one person to buy for which makes it less expensive and makes the surprise on who has u fun.
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? Some years I shop for them with his input or we do it together....
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC? I think DH and i are going to just do stocking stuffers this year cuz there isn't a lot we need and we are trying to watch our spending and i know im gonna be ordering pics after our photoshoot with jenhum saturday. DC is getting a lil trike (thank you pampers points), leapfrog laptop, pillow pet, dr. kit, and some lil different block sets and puzzles a family friend gave us so I figured why not wrap them for xmas cuz he doesn't need a ton. My stepson is getting camping/boyscout related stuff.
1. Do you travel (spending the night elsewhere) to visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? Just Thanksgiving or just Christmas? Or neither? No. We have Thanksgiving at my house. Christmas we just travel during the days.
2. How far away do you live from your family that you travel to see on holidays? 1 hour maybe.
3. If you're able to visit your families without spending the night at their house(s), how far away do you live from them? 1 hour
4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? It is just how I like it.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? Reading The Polar Express on Christmas Eve.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? Yes
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? I do it.
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC? Don't think DH and I are doing gifts. So far for Allie... a tricycle, Little people sets, snap n style dog, book. I also plan on getting a big magnadoodle and some other little things.
1. Do you travel (spending the night elsewhere) to visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? Just Thanksgiving or just Christmas? Or neither?
My family is in NJ. We rotate holidays every year and drive up. (Thanksgiving one year, Christmas the next)
2. How far away do you live from your family that you travel to see on holidays? 600 miles, a 10 hour drive
3. If you're able to visit your families without spending the night at their house(s), how far away do you live from them? IL's live an hour away
4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually?
I think/hope it will stay the same. But we'll see.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? Not really any yet.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? Yup.
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? I may try to help out with ideas, but it's ultimately up to DH
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC? No clue.
1. Do you travel (spending the night elsewhere) to visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? Just Thanksgiving or just Christmas? Or neither? Right now, we're traveling for both holidays and it's driving me crazy. I almost dread the holidays now. Sad.
2. How far away do you live from your family that you travel to see on holidays? 3 hours from each but they live in different towns (1 hour from each other)
3. If you're able to visit your families without spending the night at their house(s), how far away do you live from them? n/a
4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? Not yet, but things will change. I am hoping and praying that we'll be living in NC already next Christmas so I'm hoping we can sleep in our own beds for at least one of these holidays.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? Staying at other people's houses??? It's sad b/c we're normally gone for 2 weeks at C-mas and we haven't been able to really start our own traditions. We have done chili when we open our own C-mas presents and we've kept that up through the years that we've been married.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? We both have 1 sibling each and they're married. So far, we give each of them a few gifts each.
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? If I can find something for each of them, I will. BIL and SIL send out a list which I actually appreciate (esp from him) b/c it makes it so much easier. But for FIL, I'm normally clueless what to get him.
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC?
DH: He said this morning that he needs jeans and a pair of shoes. I want to do a nicer gift that's a surprise too though.
DC: A little play horse, table/chairs set, and I'm thinking of other ideas.
1. Do you travel (spending the night elsewhere) to visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? Just Thanksgiving or just Christmas? Or neither? Usually we go up home for Thanksgiving, but this year we are going to my brothers in Richmond. I just couldn't do the drive up there with O again.
2. How far away do you live from your family that you travel to see on holidays? 6.5 hours, give or take traffic around DC and how many stops we have to make for Owen
3. If you're able to visit your families without spending the night at their house(s), how far away do you live from them? My btother is in Richmond, so it's 2 hours door to door.
4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? Yes! We are not going home for Christmas, we want it to be at our house so "Santa" can find him. Plus we have our own traditions and things we like. Thanksgiving I love to be home, but Owen hates being in the car, and the traffic is a nightmare.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? Christmas music and decorating, HUGE breakfast Christmas morning and watching videos, always watch certain movies, one gift from stocking on Christmas Eve after church.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? Yes, usually something small.
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? DH is on it.
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC? No clue what to get DH at all, O is getting a potty, some books and clothes, a few toys that I haven't picked out yet, but probably Little People, Thomas and Weebles stuff.
1. Do you travel (spending the night elsewhere) to visit family for both Thanksgiving and Christmas? Just Thanksgiving or just Christmas? Or neither? We will spend a weekend before Christmas with my parents in Kernersville. Everywhere else will be day trips. Thanksgiving will be at our house with my parents, IL's, and brother & SIL.
2. How far away do you live from your family that you travel to see on holidays? My parents are 1.5 hrs away, IL's are a little over 2 hrs away. My extended family are two hours away, DH's extended family are local (Raleigh), and in Wilson.
3. If you're able to visit your families without spending the night at their house(s), how far away do you live from them? see above
4. Have you changed your holiday traveling plans since your LO came along? If not, do you plan to change things eventually? Yep--we used to spend Xmas eve with my extended family, but now spend it at home. I want Holly to always have Xmas morning at home.
5. What holiday traditions do you have? none really yet... I'm finishing a homemade advent calendar that I hope will be a fun tradition for us. I also want to start making homemade cinnamon rolls on Xmas morning.
6. If you and your DH have siblings, do you give each sibling a gift? We decided not to do gifts with my brother & SIL anymore--we just get together for dinner or something instead. DH has one sister who's estranged from the family. I've never met her. And don't buy her a gift. LOL.
7. Do you Christmas shop for your ILs or leave that up to your DH? I usually do it, or we do it together. We do a lot of online shopping though, so he'll do that, usually.
8. What do you plan to give DH? DC? Our plan is to get new bedroom furniture as our gift to each other (though we won't get it until after the new year--just don't have time to shop for it right now) I'll also buy him some stocking stuffers and small gifts (like the fleece bulldog PJ pants I picked up for him the other day. hehe).
