Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Teething

My poor little boy cut his first tooth last night, his lower middle. I expected it to be soon since he had all the symptoms and my DD cut her teeth at 3.5 months, but he's not even 3 months yet. I feel so bad for him. He doesn't have the hand mouth coordination to pick up teething rings and chew on them. Anyone else hit the teething stage yet?

Re: Teething

  • I think maybe. She isn't excperiencing any discomfort yet though from what I can tell. She chews (not sucks) on her hands, our hands, anything she can get up to her mouth successfully, but she's not really grasping yet. She just kinda hugs our hands to her face.

  • I think Amy is starting to. She constantly has her hands in her mouth and has been a bit more fussy.
  •  It is reassuring to see others with young babies going through teething early.

I think ours is, but our pediatrician keeps telling me it is too early. However, my dental hygienist has a son 3 months old who already has 2 teeth went through the teething symptoms at 2 months.

Our LO has been drooling and biting and seems to get great relief from biting...no fever and has been cleared by pedi for ear infection. Our pedi thinks it is just a growth spurt, but I am really doubting it. I know it can take a long time between the teething symptoms and appearance of the first tooth, but I hope for his sake that the tooth hurries up.

  • I feel so bad for him, but he's handling much better then my dd ever did.
