I'm sure that it has been asked before- Christmas Trees?

What are your plans for having a Christmas tree this year? DS is so busy and into everything and has no idea what "no" and "not for you" mean, I'm thinking that if we got one it would turn into a disaster. What are you guys thinking? TIA!

  • We're putting ours in our foyer/entry-way. It's in a location that DS doesn't have regular access to, yet we can still see it from our living room.

I was thinking the very same thing just today! We plan on going to visit family this year for christmas so we may just skip the tree altogether this year! I think that will save alot of headaches!

  • The tree will go in a corner with an exercise pen stretched around it from wall to wall so that DD can't actually reach it.
  • If I don't have a tree my mother would come to my house and put one up for me, lol!

  • We will have a tree and just teach her that it's not for her.  She knows stop and sit (we have a dog.... so she knows dog commands) and she knows no as well, so she'll just learn that's not where she can play.

  • This is still in debate at our house. DS knows 'no' and 'stop' but he chooses to ignore them.
  • Our tree will be in a corner of our living room, tethered to the wall with fishing line/eye hooks.  All of the unbreakable ornaments will go at the bottom of the tree, and I won't put wrapped gifts out until the last minute!
I don't know what's up with my siggy and I am too lazy to figure it out.
  • We put the super yard around the tree and keep the special ornaments near the top of the tree.

  • When I was a baby, my parents put the Christmas tree and gifts in a playpen so I couldn't get to them. But playpens were a lot bigger than the PackNPlays now. We might try that with a smallish (artificial) tree though.
