Hey ladies, do you know if we are allowed to drink eggnog? I was told by a friend that as long as it is pasteurized, then it is fine. But I forgot to ask my doctor to confirm this when I saw her this week, and I wondered if any of you had this conversation with your doctor?
It is my favorite holiday treat, and I'm hoping I can still enjoy it while pregnant!
Re: Eggnog?
Here's what I found with a Google search. Basically commercially prepared eggnog is fine, but don't drink homemade eggnog made with raw eggs:

Thanks!
It usually isn't on the menu, but if you feel ok with drinking a small amount of store-bought eggnog, I highly recommend trying a decaf Starbucks eggnog frappucino. I never order frappucinos otherwise, and you wouldn't think that coffee and eggnog really go together, but they are amazing and I wait all year to have one.
Store bought eggnog is pasteurized (unless you're buying it from your local raw dairy), so safe. Now the fat/sugar/etc. may not be approved by your doctor, but it is certainly safe in its prepared form. Don't drink it home-made unless it's made with pasteurized eggs (yes, there is such a thing) and whiskey free.
I have an eggnog latte almost every morning now that it's out. Yum!
Haha no kidding- me too! My MIL makes some amazing homemade stuff, but I'm pretty sure it does have raw eggs in it
Makes me so sad to think about not having any- I was already looking forward to it!
