so today i didn't get a chance to eat lunch because we were so super busy at work... i did my best to grab snacks and stuff but there was def no real lunch, so its now 5pm and i'm finally sitting down to a monster salad and pizza!
i didn't want to have to tell boss yet about the baby but if its keeping me from being able to take time to get a real lunch then i think i'm going to have to sooner rather than later.
any thoughts?
Re: anyone told their boss yet?
If your health/the babies health is at risk, you may want to tell them. The other option if you know you won't get a real lunch is to pack a bunch of small snacks like yogurt, raw veggies etc. so you can get some good snacks in.
I haven't told my boss yet. I got my BFP on Saturday and started a new job on Monday . . . luckily it is a contract that is set to expire on June 30th, so it really shouldn't effect him too much unless he wanted to extend the contract.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to have tell next week (will only be 6wks 2days)...
They are trying to plan a dept mtg in the UK and I just don't feel comfortable flying overseas when I'm sick as a dog 24/7 and being that far from american docs if something were to happen... we'll see(advice welcome)

I was trying to hold out until the first of the year but I'll have to tell her sooner than that. We are mandated to get the flu vaccine (work for a hospital) and the due date for the vaccine is before I'm out of my 1st trimester. My doctor does not recommend getting the vaccine until I'm out of my 1st trimester, which is at the end of December.
*Yes, I know many of you have already gotten the flu vac and doctors recommend to get any time during your pregnancy. My doctor is just one of those who does not.
This!! I told my boss at 5 weeks because not telling him could have potentially put the baby's health at risk. If you aren't able to eat when you need to, and telling your boss might change that, I would tell! Just make sure to tell your boss to keep it hush hush if you don't want everyone else at work to find out. Good luck!
When is the meeting supposed to be? Soon? I think I'd ask my doctor what she thought about traveling so far. I just got home from Chicago, but a 2 hour flight is way different than international.

I have not told yet. I want to wait til the first of the year.
I also work for a hospital and they give us the chance to opt out of the shot if you fill out a form. Do you have this option.
We m/c in September. I was having to leave school early and during planning periods for doctors appointments, so I had to tell the principal what was going on. I'm blessed because he was so supportive and encouraging. He's been rooting for us since.
That said, we'll tell him after our first appointment Thursday so he knows what to expect and plan for. As was said before, tell your boss if it helps you take care of you LO!
I told my immediate supervisor only because we are very close. The ladies in my department are all a pretty close knit group (like family). I have not told my manager. I think I will wait till after my first trimester or maybe just wait till she asks.
It'd be the 2nd week of Dec, I'd be 9wks (which is after my 1st appt)... it's either the UK or Boston... Boston I'm totally cool with and same with Chicago (our HQ), but the overseas just makes me anxious.... being on a plane that long and away from home when I'm feeling like such ass (nauseous, tired, etc).... My boss is pretty cool so we'll see how he reacts to the news.... it wouldnt be the end of the world, I'm just a little less than thrilled about the timing....

If I had a normal job I wouldn't have told. But since my job is pretty physical and my condition prevents me from doing my job normally..I pretty much had to spill the beans immediately.
Pregnancy brain is a very real thing though..I've been dumb as rocks all week long. And when he asked me "So..what are your long term plans?" I had NO IDEA what he meant. So I said..."I'm...keeping it...?" And he laughed his head off. "No, I mean are you going to come back to work full time, cut down to part time, or are you jumping ship entirely?"
I turned 20 shades of red I was so embarassed.
