OMG the itching

This pregnancy has caused some really itchy skin. I itch everywhere--even my legs. Anyone experience this and know a good lotion that can stop the crazy itching? I don't want to buy something that will make it worse or irritate my skin further. I had terrible PUPPS on my belly during 3rd tri with Keira and I'm praying I won't get it with this pregnancy. I didn't itch all over with her though, and I'm going crazy right now!

  • I would just use any good lotion that's fragrance free and be sure to drink plenty of water. Keeping the skin hydrated will help with the itching. Don't take too many baths, as that will dry out the skin. Hope you feel better!

  • Oh I am so sorry! Itching is AWFUL! Hope you don't end up with PUPPs again. I had that too and to quote my doctor, "That's the worst case I've ever seen!" If it continues w/o relief, I'd ask to see a derm. I had to see one for my PUPPs and he was so helpful in bringing some relief.

I did take cool baths w/ Domeboro Astringent Solution and it brought temporary relief.

  • I've been using Lubriderm Extra Dry skin lotion, it seems to work pretty well. But I think I am going to switch to what I use on my face, Vanicream, it is really really good and has NOTHING in it, it is great for sensitive skin.

  • This was me!  My Dr. tested me for Cholestasis since I did not have a rash like PUPPS, but itched all over including my back, legs and arms.  Fortunately the test was negative.  I did find a little relief when I switched soaps to something natural with no added fragrance and I used a fragrance free lotion.
