This week I had an ultrasound done at my OBGYN?s office to check on some cysts that I had in July. While I was there, I attempted to show my doctor my chart. This is how it went:
Me: I have been charting since my last cycle on BC ended. *pushes chart towards doctor*
Doctor: Oh. Those things are actually very useless. Nobody uses them anymore because they don?t really tell you anything. Some doctors still have women do them simply to keep them busy and make them feel involved. *pushes chart away*
Me: Oh. *Thinking WTF?!?!*
So, instead of confirming ovulation by charting, the doctor wants me to have a blood test done on CD21 to see if I ovulated. If I don?t ovulate by CD 21, he wants to put me on clomid. Oh, and he also said that he does not monitor patients while they?re on clomid because he?s never had a patient experience harmful side effects (thinning of the uterine lining, etc.) I think he?s totally fvcked up in the head.
Re: My OBGYN is an effing idiot.
Run from that doctor as fast as you can! What a moron.
Seriously, I O'd every cycle... but usually on CD22. According to your doc and his CD21 test, I don't O. What an idiot.
FYI... this most recent pregnancy - I O'd on CD24.

If there's one thing I've learned while waiting my turn,
it's that in each life some rain falls but you also get some sun.

Wow. Just wow. What a moron. The "charting is useless" is bad enough, but the "no monitoring on Clomid" is horrible.
I hate to think how many women who aren't as informed as you have been misguided by this twit.
I hope you are able to find someone else soon!
