I've gained about 2 pounds and I am 18 weeks. At my 16 week appointment, but doctor didn't seem too concerned. Maybe I read too many pregnancy books, but Mayo Clinic says that I should gain around 10 pounds by week 20. I'm thinking 8 pounds in the next 2 weeks isn't going to happen. I'm certainly not depriving myself, I'm just not gaining. My belly is growing and I'm feeling little flutters so I'm assuming all is well. Is anyone else not gaining any weight?
Re: anyone not gaining weight?
I'm only up 1 pound from my 5 week weight (not sure what I weighed before that as I've always been fairly thin and not needed to worry about it) and I'm nearly 20 weeks. I am slightly concerned but my belly is definitely growing and I seem on target in other areas (though not really feeling movement yet)...our next scan is on Monday, so I will feel a lot better once I can see how the baby has progressed. I feel like I'm getting enough calories but I do walk to work every day (90 minutes roundtrip) and I walk a bunch on weekends as well, so my guess is all the activity has kept the weight gain at bay. My bump has grown a bunch this week so I'm feeling a lot less worried for now.
I went and had my anatomy scan yesterday and at my appointment I was only up 2 pounds from my pre pregnancy weight. I asked the doc what he thought and he said the scan showed the baby was right on track and looked good so he was not concerened about my weight.
I just want to know where this big belly came from and no weight.
Last time I was at the doctor's office they said I lost 2 lbs (back in October)We go next week and I'll be about 18 weeks then, but my scale at home has not moved at all. I don't feel I have a big bump, but DH says you can tell I am pregnant.
We listen for/hear the hb every other with the home doppler and I've felt some good movements the last 4-5 days so I am hoping everything is still on track.
I'm still down a pound from my PP weight, but I was still up from when I got pregnant with DD not even two years ago. Right now I weigh about as much as I did when I was 18 weeks with her (and I was a little ahead of my "suggested weight gain"), so I'm saying that the scale is going to start moving in the other direction in the next week or so.
My dr has mentioned it, but baby is measuring right (even a little ahead, and we know conception down to a 12 hour window). I feel good and belly is definitely growing. I think my body just KNOWS what it needs from me. When I had dropped a few pounds due to illness last week I went on a major craving binge- when I gained the weight back my appetite slowed again.

This is me exactly. Don't worry, I'm sure it will catch up with most of us sooner than later ;-)
