monkey themed??

Im not sure what the theme of my shower should be... does it have to be the same theme as the room??

I like the whole blue and brown thing.. i think i want that for the babys room (its a boy) with some football accents threw out...

at the same time i think i love a monkey theme too.. i know my bf would LOVE for it to be football because of course he lovves football and im good with that idea idont know i guess if i do a football theme for the room can i have a monkey theme for the showeR??

    we had a monkey theme for our shower and it was great! Monkey balloons, lots of cute monkey bibs, monkey on the cake, etc.

    I think the theme can be whatever you want it to be...do what you want, your husband won't be there so you choose. My shower is in 2 weeks and all I know is it's a girl theme, hopefully not too girly pink though. 

    And definitely compromise with your husband about the nursery theme...I'm sure you can google or find on the bump somewhere some great ideas on having football in the nursery, but not over the top either.

    I had a monkey themed shower, blue and brown and it was so cute. Loved it.  

    I did get lots of monkey themed gifts because of it, stuffed animals, storage bins, outfits, pj's.  I may end up having a monkey room even though I didn't plan on it.

    The theme of the shower does not need to "match" the theme of the nursery.  However, like the pp said, may people will think that it is your theme and buy accordingly.
