  Which fruits?

   

  And, yes, the seeds will grow, but people say they won't grow any fruit. Since that takes MANY years anyway, I haven't had firsthand experience to say. Avocado pits are really fun for kids, though!

  Avocados, oranges, and grapefruit. I don't expect fruit but it would be fun to watch seedlings sprout leaves.

  I'd recommend the avocado still. Since it is so large your LO can really see the process.
