How do you like your Baby Jogger City Mini?

I am pretty sure this is the stroller we plan on registering for based on what I have read on-line and from the in store reviews at Buy Buy Baby, but would like to hear feedback from mom's who actually use the stroller. Any reason to not pick this stroller? Thx

Re: How do you like your Baby Jogger City Mini?

  • ABSOLUTELY no complaints!!  We've had a snap-n-go, the travel system stroller (chicco cortina), DH's jogging stroller, and finally this one.  Wish I had saved a lot of money and went with this one from the beginning!

  • Overall, I love it. One teeny, tiny complaint is the basket underneath. It is very small. But I have gotten used to it! It is not a reason to not get it!

  • Thumbs up from me.  I like that it's easy to manuever (I can do so with one hand), it folds up easily (again, with one hand), is compact when folded for a stroller of that size and does well on more rugged surfaces (grass, mulched paths, etc.)

My "cons" are that the storage at the bottom is kind of difficult to get stuff in & out of (and it's not that big) and the stroller unfolded is kind of big.  Thus, I end up carrying the diaper bag on my person (or just putting a few important things in the bottom) and I don't use it in tight places like the farmer's market.

  • I love ours. I can't tell if DD loves it; sometimes I think she looks slouched over, but she doesn't complain. I would probably not use it for a newborn (we had a Graco Snugride); we used a City Mini Double for the nanny share when DD was 4 months old and she seemed to do fine (it could be reclined).

    Good luck!

  • Love mine. Easy to fold, easy to stroll w/ one hand, fits in my small trunk (took up less space then the snap and go frame) and LO seems to like riding in it. Ditto to what PPs have written about the small storage basket. I wish it was larger. It's so hard to but anything underneath when LO is sitting in the stroller, but we manage.

This. But the storage thing has never actually been a problem...maybe because this is the only stroller we have ever had and we travel light? Either way, I would recommend this stroller to anyone without reservation. We got the infant seat adapter bar and used it with our Britax Companion from day one.

Also, I was just thinking that maybe the storage thing hasn't been an issue for us because the diaper bag we use most of the time has little straps that allow you to attach it to the push bar.

Why not?  We have the Snugride 32 for a car seat & use the City Mini with it (bought the converter bar thingy).  It works fine.

  • I love using it with a few additional accessories.  Key for me is one that attaches to the handle to give you somewhere to set keys or your phone or whatever (I got used to having one on our Snap n Go).  Also, we hit a point where DD seemed annoyed because the seat is so far reclined and the sides of the stroller kept her from seeing anything but straight ahead.  We got a belly bar so she can pull herself up to sitting fully upright and she seems to like having the view much better than before.

The storage basket is impossible for me to get all but the smallest things into, so I just pretend it's not there and stuff everything into my diaper bag.

  • We have used ours from day 1 with our Chicco KeyFit.  The adapter bar for the Chicco is relatively new, and the only con is that you have to remove the canopy from the stroller to get the carseat in....BUT the bar and the canopy are easy to remove and replace and we have started using it both ways.  It's so light and easy to fold up.  We have a SkipHop diaper bag and we just hook the strap over the City Mini handles, so we rarely use the storage basket anyways.  (FWIW, the 2010 models have a somewhat larger storage basket.)

  • The instructions are pretty clear about not hanging anything from the handle bars, which sucks. I do it anyway with my Skip Hop bag, but you have to be careful - it really can tip if there's no kid in it. My coworkers bought this when they bought the stroller because they felt badly that there was no cupholder, and it is very, very handy.

According to the customer service rep I spoke to, you can actually use it from day one without any kind of adapter or anything because the seat reclines all the way back. We didn't use it that early, but definitely once C had head and neck control. I tucked an extra snuzzler (like what's in a infant car seat).

All that being said - awesome stroller at a really good price.

    The DC Nest. Winers welcome.

You're right; with the adapter to use the infant carrier, I'm sure it's fine (we didn't know there was an adapter at the time and used the Snugride stroller base). I meant I wouldn't have felt comfortable putting DD directly into the CityMini seat, though I'm sure others have done it with no problems.

  • we used the snap and go for the first six months and really like the City Mini when we used it but DD won't ride in a stroller anymore (and has not fro the last three months) so now we have three useless strollers.

  • LOVE it!!  I have the double.  Our single is a Mac, but I would love to have the city mini single if it weren't so expensive.

  • We have the double and LOVE IT!!!!! Seriously the best purchase I ever made! Folds up so easily, drives awesome..can do one handed with a 16lb baby and 33lb toddler in it!

Only flaw is the too small basket underneath.

The 2011 model now has a stiffer back to address the slouching issue.  That's the most common complaint I have heard about this stroller, but now that they have fixed I can't wait to get it!
