Certified for $150. I went to the pedi office. The consultation was as long as the feeding. I was able to email and call her any time after the appointment for no cost.
Paid nothing, she's certified and works at the hospital I delivered at. The hospital offers breastfeeding classes that she teaches. I had to pay for that class but it was worth it and was only $25.
My pedis office has one that is certified and I can see her for a 30 min appt for I think $25; I saw her when DD was born. This time, I found a private consultant in the area who is also certified and paid $100 to see her in her office; it would have been $150 if she came to my house. I can call her for follow ups as needed and reasonable phone calls are free; if I want to have a follow up visit it is $40 for an hour. She gave me a bill for my insurance but I haven't checked with them yet to see if they will cover it.

Re: How much did you pay to see an LC?
My insurance covered it. Check with them.
Mine is certified and is employed by my pedi.
Average cost is 100-150 for an hr. (I am a lactation consultant)
edit: this is for Home care- after leaving the hospital. phone and email follow up is free
