Our sitter is expecting a baby girl in January. She had told my husband that she wants Briley's clothes. I don't want to give them to her. I wasn't planning on getting rid of them, since hopefully we will be TTCing again next year. I know she doesn't have a whole lot of money, but I'm pretty sure her fiancee has a good job, and I did get her a nice shower gift. If I thought I would get them back I wouldn't mind lending her the clothes, but I feel like we will never see her again after she stops watching Briley in December. Am I horrible for this?
Re: How bad is this?
I hope she didn't actually say exactly that. I'm hoping she said something along the lines of... if you guys would like to get rid of some of Briley's clothes I would be happy to take them. Not - "gimme!" lol.
I don't blame you for not wanting to give them away - especially since you want to have more kids.
This! I would just tell her that you plan on trying for another baby soon so you planned on keeping them.
I think it's weird that the sitter would ask for B's clothes in the first place. The only people I would ask for clothes would be family and even then probably wouldn't.
You're not horrible for not wanting to give the clothes up. If she asks again, just say you want to keep them for any future babies

This! I did end up giving away my maternity clothes, because I would love to buy new clothes when I get pg again (but only because I'm a shopoholic)!
For real?! She's crazy.
If you were feeling extra generous *maybe* you could buy her one of the specific items she mentioned...
Just because she asked for them I would say hell to the no. And I am not having anymore children.
That's just weird. IMO.
