to induce labor
anyone tried it? any luck?
LO is measuring 7lbs 15oz and I am measuring 39 weeks as of this morning. I am in enough pain that dr offered me darvocet (sp?). I declined it because it will just make me puke like crazy. I am ready to get this show on the road. . .
Re: so. . .castor oil, does it work?
Yes, but don't do it.
I looked at this way. . . I don't want to be in labor and feel like extra crap from the castor oil.
I recommend accupuncture.
I tried it at 41 weeks with every dang one of my pregnancies and it never did anything more than make me go to the bathroom. Well, that's not quite true. with DS2, I took it later in the evening and it did cause regular contractions that then subsided after an hour. That was my last ditch effort before my first ever induction. (Babies came on EDD+10, 8 and 8 respectively)
I wouldn't bother with it before your due date and it will do NOTHING for you if your cervix isn't ripe. On the other hand, it wasn't really awful either, so if you try it, don't be nervous.
