poor responder to meds

Hi All,

 I had my IVF cycle cancelled two weeks ago due to being a poor responder to the meds. I had itty bitty follicles and not one became full size. I was on Lupron, Menopur and Follistim. My DH and I meet with our RE on Tuesday to discuss the next step. I've heard of other protocols used on those who are poor responders. Is anyone out there a poor responder to IVF meds and has a used a med protocol that worked? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

    I am DOR, so a poor responder.  I have had better results with EPP (Estrogen Priming Protocol), but I think it is for AMA (Advanced Maternal Age).

    What protocol where you on?  What was your AFC (Antral Follicle Count on CD3)?

    I have had 2 cycles cancelled.  One was a long lupron (which I responded to previously) and the other was the antagonist.  I am currently trying microdose lupron this cycle, which is supposed to help poor responders. 

    My RE put me on BCP for only 15 days, so I dodn't over-supress and I will be on 450IU Gonal-f and 225 IU Menopur.  Those are my highest doses (by far) to date.

    Poor responder in the house and a LATE responder that at.  I almost got cancelled it was a VERY VERY close call and one heck of a roller coaster!  My protocol was micro-flare (I think) 

     

    • Lurpon 20 units AM/PM
    • Stims started 2 days later
    • Menopur 4 powders (AM)
    • Gonal F 300 Units (PM)

    HOpe it helps!  It did work in the end and I only had 10 antral follicles and not all of them responded.  Good luck to you, please don't lose hope I know it is an absolute downer.

    IVF #1 11/10 brought us DS Stimming for IVF #2 begin 11/5/11 AFC (7) =( Protocol: Lurpon flare (2 days) + Lupron 10ml/Menopur 4 vials (AM) Lupron 10ml/300IU Gonal-F PM (converted to IUI) failed IVF 2.1 1/12 BFP!

    I responded poorly to Lupron. Then with an antagonist cycle I got more eggs, but all of them piss poor quality. We did an estrogen priming protocol and I got both good numbers and great quality. It resulted in my son. 
    A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
    After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
    My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

    hi! thanks for your response. when my cycle was cancelled, my re mentioned taking me off of lupron but nothing about epp.

    i was on bcp, 10 units of lupron then reducing to 5, two vials of 75 units of menopur and 300 of follistim.

     

    my afc was 6 but none of them grew to full size.

    thanks, everyone! i never thought trying to get pregnant would be so hard and thought ivf would be the easy fix!
