Renting Maternity Clothes...

So, I have a black tie wedding next Saturday and instead of splurging $500+ on a dress that wouldn't fit me forever I decided to rent it. I have read great things about RentTheRunway.com. I got a great couture dress for $75 for 4 days. Perfect for my growing body!

Today, I saw this new website called RentMaternityWear.com. Same concept as Rent the Runway... what do you think? Would you rent a dress for a special occasion or your baby shower?

    I think it would be nice for something like a black tie wedding, but I don't think I would for a baby shower or holiday.  The prices for renting would be about what I would pay to buy a nice dress for a baby shower, so I'd prefer to buy one and be able to get multiple uses/pregnancies out of it, and possibly sell it when I'm done.

    Yeah, I agree the Maternity one is pointless. To rent a dress for the shower is pointless!

    But the RenttheRunway.com ones are great!

    I wouldnt rent a maternity dress but I have used renttherunway.com for a family friends wedding. I loved it :)

    I would.... but I'm only 5' 2 so no matter what dress I get, I always have to get it altered on the hem.

    wow- the renttherunway one is awesome!  I wish I had known about it before!  I am always feeling pressured to buy gowns for dh's black tie events for work.  Thanks for sharing.

     We are doing a black tie in December, so maybe I'll be able to find a gown from the maternity site for that one.

    Rent the Runway has a bump friendly section! Not maternity, but will be flattering!
