DH and I have decided that we will do what is right and include SD in our vacation. Problem is, where??? DH does not want to deal with teh Caribbean as we are date confined to traveling (1st two weeks of August) and it is hurricane season. We cannot afford to buy 5 airline tickets to Hawaii or something.
So, where would you wonderful ladies recommend? We live in Las Vegas and have done the Southern CA and Disneyland several times already. We would have to have two rooms since we will have SD (16) and my two sons (16 and 14) as they cannot be in a room together which means DH and I spend our vacation sleeping with our kids. I love my boys and would not mind that if I have to and I DH won't either.
Any recommendations would be awesome.
Re: Based on your awesome response to post below ....
How about British Columbia? This looks like fun and teenagers might like all the adventure stuff to do.

That might be a conversation to have with your kids, why not get suggestions from them of where they would like to go, after all it is their vacation not ours. I think the kids would enjoy participating in where the family goes on the family vacation (please include SD in this, even if she doesn't answer the phone your DH can tell her about the plans and that you want her input and ideas of where she would like to go).
I think you are making the right decision!
Well, how about renting a house or condo somewhere, so you could have multiple bedrooms. Some place like South Carolina could be great for you. I found some beautiful rental homes for less than $2000 in South Carolina on www.homeaway.com
You could also do Florida, Georgia, or the Outter Banks NC.
If you prefer more rugged, nature based vacations you could do the mountain areas of South/North Carolina, Colorado, California, or someplace like Maine. I have friends that did Maine last summer with their 14 year old and loved it.
But anywhere you go you should be able to find a rental home. Just google it.
Future - check out this link - I remember I read this somewhere. I think it would be VERY different and interesting!

Check out the vortex link - it's very scientific and I think the teens would love it.
Someone above mentioned renting a house/condo as a cheaper alternative to hotels. Check out vrbo.com.
We have used that site for vacation rentals and it is great!
Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota to the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore. Washington DC, New York City, Chicago, Texas. I could go on.....
There are alot of affordable, cool vacations in this country.
