Reasons Why I Love My former MW. Long

I had a terrific MW during my first pregnancy, I mean, the kind that gives you their personal phone number, and comes to the hospital when it's not her on call day to sit through an induced labor that ended with a C-section. Beyond fabulous, and really more like having a friend in there.

Fast forward to now, same office, she's not there, changed practices.

1st appt. doc. Sorry once a c always a c. (old man)

2nd appt.doc meet with newer doctor, he's more current in newer practices (Nurse prac)

3rd appt. "well you pushed for three and half hours" "so you're probably not a good candidate" (new Doctor)  Mind you i started induction on friday, didn't start pushing until Sunday (after getting a wet tap epidural) and being chained to my bed due to severe pre e. (200/100) bp when i went in.

4th appt. "well no one wants a severely damaged or dead baby and you don't want an emergency hysterectomy" (doctor I saw second most, who didn't recognize me at all. It's only been 18 months since I had my son!

Call personal number of midwife after 18 months, Knows exactly who I am, offers to talk to her current practice about making the switch, follows up and offers to come to my next appointment with the head of OB at hospital, because she happens to have that morning free, and since she was the one in there during my labor, she's coming to the appointment to go over my records with the other doctor and myself. I love her. IF we can't make progress at the hospital appt. I am for switching, even if I end up with a c, I'd just rather spend the rest of my appointments with someone who I feel is looking out for me and my daughter, not for the hospital or other doctors.
