I want to buy a Christmas present for the baby, wrap it, and put in under the tree even though she more than likely will not be here on Christmas! I have no idea why I want to do this and I secretly think it might make me a weirdo. Am I right?
were actually planning on doing this for christmas. the gifts i had in my mind are all needed things mainly cute winter outfits and toys, nothing too big.

No, I don't think so. I asked dh the other day if I should get baby a stocking. He looked at me like that was the stupidest thing I had ever said! He said to get one for him just in case he's here by then. (I'm not due until 1-15) I think buying a gift is sweet, it doesn't make you a weirdo.

I dont know if dh and I will (just because we are on a budget) but I know my parents and sister are getting LO gifts and will be wrapped under the tree. I cant wait until next Christmas when she will be here!

OMg, I know! I got the CUTEST Christmas outfit EVER for next year at my shower.I will have to AW some pics of it tomorrow!
I suppose its a bit strange, but not so crazy I'm going to tell you not to do it. Our Christmas' are going to be a bit interrupted this year anyway so whatever you want to do to make it a little special I say go for it.
I give up trying to get a ticker. I have a DD that is 2.5 years old and is awesome. Maybe I'll add a quote to distinguish myself. Hmmm. How about...

I don't know - for some reason I see this is as a bit odd. I mean, if there is a chance the LO will be here, I can understand it. But if not, I just don't get it. Not that I'm knocking anyone - I totally get the whole excitement thing!! It's just not for me.

Well of course there's a chance she will be here. I will be 37 weeks at Christmas. Both of my sister's kids were born by then!
If that's weird, I am a freak with unborn LO's personalized stocking. (heehee)
MIL got us a "baby's 1st Christmas" ornament this year for our tree. Its a picture frame one and she put the 4D u/s pic in it from 27 weeks.

I bought some 12 month old Christmas theme soft feety pjs at the big JC Penny sale last week. They were Carter's and were 1/2 off. So I already have her Christmas Eve pjs for next year.

I think it's a little odd too. I won't be 37 weeks until Christmas Eve. If he is at the very least full term (and considering most first babies come around or after the EDD), I don't think he'll be here, so I won't be plan on having gifts for him. Honestly, it makes me worry to think about him being born at 36 weeks. I know that's far along, but it's early and I hope that doesn't happen. I definitely don't want him born on Christmas Eve or Day because I want him to have his own birthday separate from that.
I wouldn't be surprised if family buys us more baby items, but I don't really personally get having stockings or gifts before they arrive, because next Christmas should be his first Christmas...and that's when we'll do all that kind of cute stuff.

I agree with that part. I'd steer clear of "baby's first Christmas" stuff - because it really isn't his first Christmas and if he DOES happen to come early and makes this his first Christmas, you can easily get stuff (on clearance!) to commemorate that after he's here.
I do maintain though that if it makes you feel happy to wrap up a gift for your baby, or hang a stocking, go for it.
