3 hour glucose test....

just got back from the test and that was a lot harder then I thought it was going to be. Had to sit in a chair waiting for each hour to go by and I was falling asleep between each blood drawing....now I feel nasty cuz of all the sugar and no food in my system...eating something now...How did you gals fair thru you test???

Felt the same way! It was awful. And, they didn't give me the first one right away, so I was actually at the lab for four hours and I was starving and felt like crap afterward! Eating and taking a nap helped a lot!

I have GD, but it's been managed by diet alone. I'm counting down the days before I can pig out on carbs again, but, I've felt so much better on the diet they have me on than I had just eating whatever before I was diagnosed.

i was really worried about feeling or getting sick when i found out that i had to do the 3-hour b/c i felt sick from the 1-hour. they gave me the option to drink the orange or lemon-lime flavored drink and i drank the lemon one b/c i hadn't before. it wasn't that bad. i ended up failing of course, but the test itself wasn't the worst.

I didn't have to take it with this one but did have to with dd1. It wasn't so bad for me, I got bored more than anything....

Ugh! That first hour was the worst. I was so jittery I couldn't sit still and had to get up and pace up and down the wing of the clinic I was in. After that, it wasn't so bad. I just had mine on Monday, and I passed (yay!) but the insides of my arms are all bruised up from all the blood draws.
