Sore throat...Not FUN!

This is my first time being sick while pregnant.  There are a lot of things you take for granted when your not pregnant.  I'm stuck with taking alcohol free robitussin, cough drops, and hot tea :( This isn't fun and it's only day one of feeling like this.... luckily it is only in my chest and throat and not a head cold!  I hope you all stay healthy!

  • I hope you feel better soon!  Being sick is never fun, especially now.

  • If you are comfortable taking tylenol, that should help too!  I hate hate sore throats and have had quite a few lately.
  • I've gotten some minor relief from hot water with honey and lemon. Minor, but its something.

  • I'm right there with you!  DH brought it home...and I did everything I could to avoid it.  Oh well.

  • Chloraseptic throat spray is also usually on the "safe" list. It numbs the pain.
  • I got one too, I can't wait to go home and have some tea with honey and lemon. Feel better!

  • Kathy,

Hi!  I'm sorry that you got whatever it is that is going around Jersey.  Seems like everyone I know has had it within the last two weeks.

I had it and I was able to take the same alcohol free Robitussin that you are taking along with what my doctor suggested: tea (fresh ginger, half a lemon and honey), cough drops (cold eaze are the best), tylenol (to keep the fever under 101*), warm salt water gargles (the zinc helps heal the sore throat) and constant use of the vaporizer/humidifier.  Towards the end, you're going to be left with lots of phlegm so the vaporizer/humidifier will help tons.

    Feel better quick!
