Need Help, Formula Question

Hello-

I BF in the beginning with my DD and then switched to FF when I returned to work.  It was hard in the beginning because she wasn't taking any of the formula.  Finally we found one that worked.  similac Alimentum is what she has been on for hte past 3 mths. It is so expensive (almost $30 a can) and my pedi said we can try to switch it since she is a little older now.  Well I gave her Similac Sensitive this morning at 6am.  My DH just called me and told me she spit all of the bottle up. This happened at 9am, 3 hours after her feeding.  Should I switch back to the alimentum or keep trying the similac sensitive. I do have a call out to my pedi.  Just wanted to see what you ladies thought.

Re: Need Help, Formula Question

  • first where do you buy your formula? wow I get it for $25 a can, my DD has a milk allergy. and second I would call the doc to see how to switch over, not sure all at once would be good, that is just my thought.

  • I would suggest slowly weaning her off it.  For example, if she takes a six ounce bottle make 4-5 ounces alimentium and 1-2 ounces sensitive.  Then, try 50/50 75/25 etc over 4-5 days.  GL!

I normally get it at Shop Rite or Rite Aid. It is about $28 there for the Similac Alimentum. Where can I get it that it is $25. Thanks!  I am going to start weaning her off of this.
