those of you that have the Nikon D40 or D60

Hello everyone, we're looking to buy a new DSLR and I wanted to know if the LCD can serve as the viewfinder in the D40 or D60?  I know some Canon models do but I prefer the Nikon brand.

I have a D70 and I can only take pictures by looking through the viewfinder, the traditional way.

 thanks!

  • As far as I know, if it's an SLR, you can only use the viewfinder as a viewfinder.  If you google the ones you're interested in, I'm sure that would be listed in the specs.

  • i have the D40 and you have to use the viewfinder only - i was so disappointed when i found out but now i'm used to it and don't mind it at all. the camera is amazing.
