Okay A needs daycare labels. I've tried perm. marker, but that washes off. DCP wants me to buy labels. I'm looking for some reasonable labels that won't cost me an arm and leg.
What kind of labels, just her name? Each child at Johns DC has a color, and they have a roll of tape in different colors and each day you just put a little bit on their stuff, food containers (since I make Johns food), bottles, sippy cup, etc. For the BM bottles they had these generic red lables you took off and threw away every day.
We have to label everything (bottles, bowls, spoons, bibs, extra clothes, toys, etc.) so I got a daycare pack from Name Bubbles. They are a bit pricey though (but very cute!), and have lasted fine the last few months since we started daycare. We routinely soak bottles for long periods of time in very hot water and also use the dishwasher and nothing has come off or faded. We also use the little laundry stickers on her blankie we send in each week and extra daycare clothes we leave there and so far, none of them have fallen off or faded yet either. We also have to label the date on all bottles and food each day so for that, we just have a roll of masking tape and tear off little pieces to write the date on with a sharpie each night when we pack Amelia's things for the next day.
We also used Name Bubbles... The Daycare pack had an assorment of stuff I didn't really need (no shoe labels, thanks!) So I just ordered packs of what I did need. I ended up spending $75. Since they were so dear, I find myself rationing them. The cheap containers holding cereal, or half a jar of food just get the sharpie. Yeah it washes off, but I just re-write it every few days.
They do hold up great though! I have 2 sets of bottles that I rotate every other day and the name bubbles still look as good as the day I put them on 4 months ago. (It's hard to believe I have been back to work that long!)
My favorite money saving tip: I've earned more than $300 in gift cards (Amazon, Starbucks, Southwest!) using SwagBucks for internet searching - and you can too!
It's FREE and EASY!
Another for name bubbles. The only time they've come off of clothing is when I've put them directly on the fabric. I'm in the process now of trying to pull the labels off the bottles (since we don't send bottles anymore) and it is tough!
Yet another one for Name Bubbles! We purchased the daycare pack as well and love it. They are very durable and absolutely adorable! They are pricey, but the daycare pack should last awhile. We have labeled everything and still have a ton of labels left.
I use masking tape. I fold over a tiny end, so I can take it off at the end of the day. It's cheap and I don't have to worry about it fading bc I do it new each day. We have to do full name and full date.
Re: Let's talk daycare labels...
This is what I used for Ella's cups, thermos, etc.
For clothes, I just write her name w/a sharpie on the tags or in the neckband.

I have heard good things about mabel's labels and I signed up to be a word-of-mouth marketer for them and need to order my free labels.
Let me look for the link for that- maybe you could sign up and score a trial pack for free!
I just ordered my labels through the Mabel's Labels buzzmama program.
It's worth it to see if you get accepted-

I used name bubbles and they've never come off.
I also use a wax pencil to write the date. I can just smudge it off with my finger and there is no tape residue.
Happy Birthday, little man. We love you so much!
