TMI WARNING: Cat slashed my nipple!

Holy jesus. I went to pick up my cat (he typically loves being held) and he freaked out. I must have hurt him or twisted him the wrong way, but he flipped and ended up scratching my right boob from nipple to inside breast about 3 inches long and down the outside of my right hand about 6 inches. And he slashed deep! I mean my arm/hand and boob were bleeding within seconds. 

So DH cleaned my up with hydrogen peroxide and neosporin and I ended up passing out on the floor of the bathroom. Let me tell you, hydrogen peroxide on the nipple/areola is torture! Anyway, I'm praying I don't get an infection cause that will be a nightmare.

    Oh jeez!!! You should be good on the infection part since it was your cat and you know where they have been, but I'm sure you will be pretty tender the next few days. Hope you feel better.

    I've got cats & worked at a vet clinic, so I know what you mean about scratches. Can't imagine getting one across the nipple/boob though. Hope you heal fast!

    That's a horrible part of the body to get scratched.  I'm so sorry!  Cat scratches and bites get easily infected... when my finger got bit by my cat when she first came to us (she was a rescued feral cat) the woman I got her from suggested that I soak it in the hottest water I could stand for as long as I could.  It healed nicely.  I can't imagine sticking my boob in that hot of water though.  You may want to contact your OB since it may affect breastfeeding...

    Sounds painful!  Just in case you don't know...cat scratch fever is a real thing.  My mom was sick once, swollen lymph nodes and fever, I'm not sure what else.  The combination of symptoms caused her doc to ask if she had been scratched by a cat...which she had.  It's not usually serious, but it can be in people with lowered immune systems.  So, if you start to feel sick, I'd go to your doctor!  Take care!

    EEEEK!! My cat scratched my thigh a few weeks ago, and THAT hurt like the dickens!

    Ow!!

    My cat once bit my nipple through my shirt while I was lying in bed once. No clue why he decided to be so mean but he went flying across the room out of pure reaction and never did it again. That was prePG and just a split second bite but hurt like helll. I couldn't image a scratch on PG nipples!!
