cry themselves to sleep?

I'd say 90% of the time at night, she cries herself to sleep. The last thing we do before bed is sing songs and she's fine during that with her head on our shoulder. She'll "ask" to go in her crib, will give a kiss goodnight and take her bear. Once we leave, she cries until she falls asleep. For naps, most of the time she'll play herself to sleep and occasionally she'll cry. Just wondering what the norm is....

    Honestly? Never. He gets put in his crib with his sleep sack, 2 paci's, a receiving blanket and his doggy.....he has music on and he lays there until he falls asleep. Sometimes it a few minutes or other times it is 20 min. He does this for nap too!

    She goes thru phases.  Right now she has been crying herself to sleep.  But that is coming off of a cold and ear infection which meant at the slightest peep I went running in.  So now we have to re-break that.

    But before the sickness, she had been just going to sleep.  Although she will usually cry as we are walking out the door, but by the time I get to the living room it would stop.

    It really depends on the night.  Some nights she plays herself to sleep and some nights she cries.  Most of the time if she cries herself to sleep it is because she is overtired.  For naps she always plays herself to sleep

    very rarely.  he talks himself to sleep and plays with one of the 4 stuffed animals he takes to bed with him

    Never, but DS has the funniest bed time ritual I have ever heard of. He likes to point out the moon and stars from the projector on the ceiling, get hugs from whichever parent is in the room, and then insists that our older cat be brought to bed so he can "snuggle" him to sleep (thank goodness the cat loves to snuggle too)

    Never. Once in a while he will whine/cry for a minute or two when we first leave the room, but then he just babbles/talks and plays. Most nights he's sleeping w/in 5 minutes of getting in the crib though. If he ever cries for more than a few minutes, I go in and get him... I can't listen to him cry... I'm a sucker and it breaks my heart. DH is even worse.

    Almost never...unless he is super tired, he will whine for about 10 seconds and then pass out.
