I know that we've had at least one BFP on here this week, but I now hold off on any additions until I hear directly from the person that they want to be added to a list.  Please keep me posted on any changes that you want to include.

Any news or updates?

What are you getting your LO for Christmas?  (I hope it's OK for me not to be PC on here :)

Re: PG-Mom-TTC check in

  • Any news or updates?

Nothing too exciting right now.  Caroline always wants to sit up on her own now.  I love that she can pull herself up by herself now, but it just reminds me of how big she is getting so fast.  She still had zero interest in tummy time so I'm preparing myself for the fact that she will probably never roll over and crawl.

I'm finally getting her christening invites out today.  When did I become such a slacker?!  The event is 12/5 and I'm giving people less than 2 weeks to RSVP.

What are you getting your LO for Christmas?

I bought Caroline a jumperoo.  Even though she has an exersaucer, I feel like she needs more variety in activities.  I also bought her Beauty & The Beast, which I know that I'll love watching more than she will :)  The only other thing that I want to get is My Pal Violet, because I'm sure that she will get plenty of gifts from our friends and family and the reality it that she won't even remember Christmas this year.

I hope you're still feeling OK, Dana.  I think of your often because I know how tough the end is.

Lots of sticky vibes for our new June 2011 babies and tons of baby dust for our TTCers!

  • Reese has started really giggling this week.  I love listening to her laugh.  It cracks me up, which makes her laugh even harder.  She is no longer happy being cradled.  She wants to sit up & look around all the time.  It makes me sad that my baby doesn't want to be snuggled as much anymore.  We took her on her first flight over the weekend.  The flight home was not much fun, but we survived.  BFing is still difficult.  The weekends are great, but on Mondays when she starts getting bottles again, the fun starts.  She screams & screams when I offer her the breast at night.  I'm really hoping this passes, because it's very upsetting & emotionally exhausting.

We have gone completely backwards with sleeping.  She was only getting up 1x/night.  A few weeks ago, she went back to 2x/night, & now we are consistently back to 3x/night.  I used to be able to put her right back down after feeding her, & now she is fighting it. I have to walk her & bounce her back to sleep.  I feel like we're back in the newborn days, & this lack of sleep is killing me now that I'm back to work.  I hope it straightens out again soon!

  • I finally gave in and moved Phoebe to her crib when she turned 3 months old.  She had finally gotten down to only waking up twice a night and now she is back up to waking up three or four times.  She is getting easier to go down at night though.  It used to take me at the very least an hour and laying her down around 4 times before she finally gave in and slept on her own.  Now it only takes about 30 mins and the most I ever have to lay her down is twice.  Rowen was even worse than this though and it took him 5 months to finally sleep through the night so I don't expect her to be much better than she is.

She is a lot of fun right now.  She giggles and squeals all the time.  I love it!  She also wants to sit up or stand up all the time and doesn't like laying on the floor.  Luckily she still does tummy time pretty well.  I turned her around in the Baby Bjorn this last week so she can look out and she gets so excited!

I have no clue what I'm getting Phoebe for Christmas.  Rowen is easy he wants Buzz Lightyear and Trixie the Triceratops from Toy Story 3.  But I still have all of Rowen's old stuff so I don't know what to do for Phoebe.

  • Thanks Natalee! I promise I'm hanging in there. OB gave me a note to work from home until the baby gets here - so today and tomorrow are my last days in the office. It was tough to get work to agree to this arrangement but I'm happy to know that yoga pants are in my future! :)

We had our 36 week check up yesterday (a little early due to DH's weekend trip to Aruba or Baby Watch 2010). I got the strep B test out of the way and we are head down - which explains running to the bathroom every hour or more. I found out the pain on my right side is from baby feet in my ribs. We also got to see some 4D which was a cool and just made everything so real that this kid is coming. We completed our BFing class last Saturday - great information even if DH was scared of some of the infected boobie pics. OB said I'll be lucky to make it to due date so we shall see. Baby is measuring to be 6 lbs currently.

As for Christmas gift - DH wanted us to pick up a "play mat for tummy time" so we did and hopefully the kid will like it as much as our dogs. :)

Good luck to all those TTCers. Sending every vibe possible to see some more of you guys KU. :)

  • Updates - Well, the time change thing was OK for Miss K for a couple days.  Last night, however, shiit hit the fan.  She woke up at least 100 times, if not more.  It was a rough night.  I eventually put her in bed with us.  But I hate sleeping with her because she takes up the whole bed and then the dogs get on th bed and I may as well sleep on the floor.  Her naps are totally off kilter today too.  Sigh.

Christmas - I am getting her a couple wintery outfits - seeing as how I am exceptionally picky about her clothes - and we are putting money in her college fund.  She won't know the difference and my fam (read - the grandmas) is going to go Christmas crazy.  I am just crossing my fingers for some educational and stimulating toys and not all junk.  But what are ya gonna do?

Sidenote - we rolled coins this weekend and deposited $89 into her account.  I told my aunt I was rolling coins for her acct and she gave me an entire Safeway plastic bag filled with pennies.  So far I have rolled $20 from that.  You can't even see a dent in the bag yet.  I can't wait to see how much we get from that.  But we're taking it one day at a time.  Rolling pennies is BOR-ING!

  • Sticky vibes to the new BFPs and lots of baby dust for the TTCers. I think this is my first post partum update. So weird to see my name on the mom list! Anyways, I am loving being a mom. N is such a happy, calm little guys. He sleeps for 4 hour stretches each night and rarely fusses. We are so lucky. Hard to believe he is going to be 1 month old on Sunday and our 2nd anniversary is Monday. No idea what we will buy for Christmas yet.
  • I can't believe I'll be 30 weeks tomorrow, time is flying by!  We had a shower this past Sunday and it was awesome!  We got so many great things!  We have another shower this Sunday, so I'm looking forward to that too.  I have a lot of organizing to do in her room.

I'm down to bi-weekly check ups at the Dr.  My back is still bothering me a lot so I ice it every night.  I'm hoping to be out of work before Xmas, but if not, my last day will be 12/30.  I think Kate is going to be a gymnast or a soccer player- she's always moving around and kicking.  She woke me out of a sound sleep 2 nights ago with a sharp jab in the ribs.  She must be running out of space in there!

    Good luck to the TTCers!

  • Corbin is getting better and better at almost sitting up on his own, and is consistantly rolling over to his back and tummy if on his side, but has only done a full roll a couple times. I told DH its his job to do lots of tummy time to help him. He turned 4 months old yesterday and is "talking" like crazy, lots of goos and boos and every once in a while we think we hear a mama.

    image

He is still only napping for 30 minutes at a time, 3-4 times a day, but is sleeping great at night, usually only waking up once. He adjusted really quickly to his new room and new crib.

I am hoping to get C some outfits and then some educational/developmental toys. I know the grandmas are going to go nuts so we will just let them get the bigger things and we will fill in the blanks. We also want to start him a savings account so will probably put money in that and hopefully convince the grandparents to help contribute to it in place of some toys as well.

  • Good luck to our TTC's and lots of sticky vibes to our newly KU!

It depresses me to no end to see N's name with a 1 next to it!  We had his birthday party this weekend and it was a huge success! Now that I have nothing to plan I don't know what I'm going to do!

As for Christmas since we are flying ovrseas we aren't getting Nathan anything.  My parents will be buying tons of things! Maybe we'll buy him a couple of cute outfits.

  • All is well here. Charlotte is still transverse so its a little uncomfortable, but not too too bad. I raked leaves today. that was dumb. Now I have a blister on each hand along with carpal tunnel, but oh well.

I find myself really bored lately so I think I'm going to start our wedding album (can you beleive I'm such a slacker?)

    Good luck to the TTCers!

  • Can I be added to the TTC list?  We've been "just having fun with it" the past few months and we're now ready to really start trying.

HI ladies!  All the babies are super cute!  I am trying to come out of hiding, but the bump is blocked at work :(  I have been trying to keep up on my phone, but it isn't always the easiest thing.  I will do better, I promise.

  • Holy moly, there's only one baby more due before Kari! That puts things into perspective as far as my to-do list I must say! Everything is good here, except for the back and rib pain. I guess she's getting so big and having so little room that when she really gets to moving the pressure isn't very comfy for mom, but I know it's worth it all in the end.

My first shower was Sunday, and we got lots of stuff. Lots of clothes but also a few things from my registry. We got our pink convertible car seat and baby monitors, which I really was happy about. She also got more room decor so I was really pleased with putting it in her room.

My next shower is on Saturday, and this one's invite mentioned "no more clothes" in a really nice way, which I really appreciated. I am super excited about it, because I'm hoping people will truly look on the registry - or buy diapers!

As far as Christmas goes for Kari, I don't even know if she'll be here in time or not, but we are definitely going to have the house decorated and everything for her "first Christmas" if she is. I doubt we'll really do presents, but if I have her in time I might get her some books and wrap them up for her. That's the only thing I haven't bought for her yet, and still really want to buy her some!

Good luck to the girls TTC, and congrats to those who are newly PG!

  • Well as I mentioned last week Maddie turned 4 on Thursday and her birthday went great!  And yesterday my baby was 18 months!  Where has the time gone?!

  • I have the GD test tomorrow.  Should be "fun".  I did the 3 hour test earlier this year when we were doing simple infertility testing.  So, hopefully all will still be A OK.

Mady is moving like CRAZY this week.  She wakes me up each morning with her kicks and punches.  Most of the time the movement isn't incredibly aggressive, but, she is dancing up a storm.

Lots of luck to the TTCers and lots of sticky dust the pg girls!!

  • We are on cycle 5. According to my OPK's from last month and this month, I am not ovulating and my cycles are crazy messed up. I made an appointment with my OBGYN for next week. Hopefully she can figure out what is going on with my body.
  • I'm way late on this but I'll play since I have a minute...

(an hour later... of course Q woke up when I wrote that!)

Things are going pretty well here. Q is developing quite the personality. she loves to interact with people around us and is all smiley. She still enjoys her play mat, still rocking tummy time and we've brought out the exersaucer. She loves to stand, she'd stand all day, but isn't keen on sitting. When we sit her up she arches her back to get out of it. She's very close to rolling back to belly and can scoot around on her back to change her direction. I'll find her on the playmat facing an entirely different direction than when I set her down. She can also scoot a little on her tummy.

She hasn't found her toes yet, I'm excited for that for some reason. She's not really holding toys yet either but her hands are in her mouth ALL.THE.TIME.

She's also learned how to shriek when she's frustrated or upset. That's going to get old fast! haha

It's so funny to see all these July babies progressing in different ways!

For Christmas we'll be taking it easy this year. Our Italy trip is most of Xmas for us. We're hoping for some experiential things like music classes & not a ton of toys. I'm sure we'll get her a special ornament & stuff but Steve & I haven't really talked about Xmas yet.
