Mmm! So this is my Momma's homemade mac and cheese recipe. I usually do some of my own edits to it, so I'll include those in bold.

Ingredients:
8 oz. Elbow macaroni noodles, cooked
4 T butter or maragarine
4 T flour
Salt, pepper, and onion powder to taste
2 c. milk
2 c. (or more! I usually use like 4 c.) shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 c. crushed cracker crumbs (I usually use crushed sour cream & onion pringles)
Instructions
Melt 4 T butter in dutch oven (those giant pots)
Whisk in flour until pasty (which usually is about 4 T, give or take a T)
Remove from heat
Add milk and spices
Heat and stir until boiling (you have to stir constantly, I usually enlist DH to do this while I shred the cheese!)
Boil 1 minute, then remove from heat
Add cheese (I usually add a little at a time), stir until melted
Pour cooked noodles in a casserole dish, and pour cheese mixture over top of that
Stir together
Add crushed topping (sometimes we use croutons)
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-49 minutes
