    Most of my comfort food is from family recipes (which I'm happy to share!):

    • macaroni and cheese (dad's recipe),
    • tamales (mom's recipe),
    • sopita de fideo (mi abuelita),
    • flanken soup (MIL's),
    • capirotada (mom),
    • sweet potato-pumpkin cazuela (Tina Wasserman's cookbook, family friend),
    • fresh baked challah with butter (Tina's recipe again)
    • Franco Garcia (dad's invention)
    • Chili over homemade corn bread (dad again)

    Lol, ssinca. I'm seriously craving carbs right now (stupid salad for lunch), hence the poll. :) I'm daydreaming about food while crunching on lettuce. :) we're starting c25k tomorrow and I'm already thinking about my carb reward for exercising!

    Oh, MrsAJL, would you mind sharing? Most of those dishes are new to me and I'd love to try them out!

    Mac and Cheese from Bone Daddy's.  I know, I know, it's Hooters with a different color scheme, but the mac is freaking good.

    When we lived around there, DH never had a hard time talking me into going to Bone Daddy's! They had several things on their menu I loved.

    Me:

    Mac N Cheese

    Mashed potatoes

    Lasagna

    Ice Cream

    Really good dinner rolls (Think Luby's, Texas Roadhouse, Carlos N Charlies)

    DH's potato soup.. which I couldn't even begin to tell you how to make because I'm pretty sure he just wings it every time. But somehow its always yummy.

    Dirty rice and sweetpotatoes w/oven fried talapia

    H?agen-Dazs Bananas Foster ice cream

    My maternal grandmothers' enchilladas

    My paternal grandmother's fried chicken and hot buttered rolls 

    Poundcake and strawberries

    My mom's smoked turkey and dressing

    My dad's cinnamon pancakes (I miss being home and waking up to those in the morning.)

    BBQ chicken salad from Chili's followed by their Molten Chocolate Cake

    Chips and dip.  I have no self-control.  I can go through a bag of chips and a pint of dip like it's nothing.  So I don't have it around very often.  :)
