Those with "big"/heavy babies come in....

My DS is in the 95th percentile for weight---he's already up to 15.5 pounds and is just turning 3 mos tomorrow.  (he was 14.5 at his 2 month). 

I have the snugride car seat/carrier---and he's getting quite heavy.  I'm wondering how long you will use yours if you have that style or if you've already switched to a "regular" carseat.  If so, what do you do when you go shopping as far as carrying DC?

I'm debating on getting the kiddopotamus car seat cover but if I'm not going to be using the carseat carrier much longer, why bother.  I'm not even sure how heavy they can be in it....I guess I should read the manual. LOL

Yeah for big babies....they're so cute!!! :)

    I can't lug her around in her infant seat anymore. I either go with someone and put her in her stroller, or put her in the moby.

    And most have a 20 lb weight limit.

    ds is near 16 lb. now, and 27" long. I know the carseat we have only goes to 29", so we're getting a convertible soon. I never lug out the infant seat, I always wrap him. =)

    We asked for a Evenflo Titan from my ILs for Xmas lol.  DS is about 18 lbs & 27 in. I hope that he is able to sit up better by then so that we can just put him in the cart when shopping.

    DS is 13 pounds at 2 months and the Snugride is already snug on him (when he's wearing a winter coat, which he pretty much is always now).  We must not be adjusting it right-- he's a chubby one but not THAT chubby (yet :)).

    DD was 16 lbs 6 oz at her 4 month appt and 18 lbs 14 oz at her 6 month.  We switched her into a convertible seat right at 6 months.  I wanted to wait until she could sit up good enough to sit in the shopping cart.

    My DS was 15lbs even @ 7 weeks.  He's 13 weeks now and I'm not sure how much he weighs.  Maybe 18lbs.

    I think it's too soon to switch to a Britax b/c he's so young, but I can barely carry the car seat with him in it.

    DD is 2 months, weighs 16 pounds and is 26".  When I go shopping I have a Snugli baby carrier I wear - but she's getting too big for it.  I'm trying to decide what other baby carrier I can get.  I've been looking at the Moby and various Mei Tai style carriers.

    DD was 17 lbs and 26 inches at her 4 month appointment over a month ago, so we are trying to figure out what to do this winter as having her in her infant seat would be awful to carry, but we could keep her bundled up in the cold weather.  We already have the convertible car seats at home......just praying that she won't go through a massive growth spurt for a while.
