If you guys are suspicious then I totally trust your judgment, but I have to say that the finding out at 3 weeks does not surprise me.
I did not originally post the whole story here because I respect all of the people who had a hard time getting pregnant and was still feeling more complain-ey about being pregnant than happy, but here it is reposted...
I was about to be prescribed something that is not safe for pregnancy (ADHD meds). We were using a barrier method and going to switch to BCP to ensure that I not get pregnant while on the medication. My doctor is super cautious and orders a blood test to confirm that patients are not pregnant before writing the prescription. It took us awhile to verify the gestational age, but it turns out I was 3 weeks and 2 days. I realize this wasn't the only issue, but FWIW I found out that early.
(See ticker)
I wasn't even late. I am going in for Betas tomorrow to see if they double.
I have a LP deficiency and we didn't think that I could even maintain a pregnancy on my own. So, we are cautiously pleased.
Re: Finding out super early =/= faker.
::headdesk:: What makes you assume she is having twins?
she already has twins, that's why she's here.
finding out early isn't the only reason we questioned it... the whole reason her doc took blood... and the fact that it wasn't even HER doc, but the pedi... and just b/c she was tired- which you really would not be that early in pg... it's all just very fishy.
perhaps she's not a faker- i hope not- but either way the whole story is odd... and on this board we don't just fall for every strange story we hear - we need lots of backup before we believe things.
Double post.
Because it takes me awhile to catch up.
I've decided I shouldn't have to defend myself; I know I'm real!
But I'd just like to clear some things up. First, this was in response to the other post:
I don't live in a bigger city, so it is either see the family doctor (whom DH & I go to also), or load up all G.'s things, plus hers, and make the 30 min. trip to the hospital and see their Dr. from the NICU. This just isn't plausable with my family; I couldn't leave without seeing Lottie, and neither G. or Libby are allowed in, so DH would have to watch them. It wouldn't make sense. Our family Dr. is very knowledgeable, and I feel confident he knows what he is doing, even with preemies.Maybe it is because I've never gone to a ped., or grew up with different types, but I think it's very normal for a Dr. to call a test for a mom (but then again, that's all I've ever known). I don't know how to dispute the fact that I shouldn't be tired this early; I know what I'm feeling, so how can that be wrong? When my Dr. said I was pregnant he said "I would say you're around 3 weeks or so". Because it is so early, I didn't think I needed to ask him HOW he knew that, or the tests etc. I'm obviously going to go see him again in the upcoming weeks- then I will switch to another Dr. possibly, since I gave birth so early with the girls. Again, it may not make sense to those who do not live in a small town, but this is how we're doing things here.
Also, I didn't say I found out on Wednesday. I had tests on Wednesday, and found out on Friday. I don't think that makes a difference, but (shrugs).
