2nd+ mom's: baby nap ?

When do you plan on having LO nap?  

I figure my choices are either:

A. In a swing in the next room.  I'll have to hope the noise from DS playing doesn't wake LO, plus I know I'll want to check on LO every two seconds if can't see him/her.

B.  In the crib with a video monitor.  DS never slept in his crib for the first 4 months, so I am not sure how this would work out.  Maybe it would create better sleep habits than I instilled in DS, but it may bother me to have the baby way upstairs.

DS napped ON me for about 7-8 months and I though I loved cuddling with him, it was a nightmare to transition him to his crib for naps and I never got anything done, so it really isn't a choice for me this time.

What does everyone else plan on doing?

    Whatever works, LOL.

    It was a few months before DD napped in her crib, so I'm thinking swing/bouncy for a bit, and then we'll try to transition?  IDK honestly.

    For the first few weeks, probably in the PNP in the next room.  But once he/she gets older, I hope that he/she is sleeping in the crib in the nursery.  We don't have a video monitor, but I'll obviously use a regular monitor.

    Good question. I hadn't thought about this yet. DD either napped in my arms or in her bouncy seat for many many months. Like you, I had lots of bad habbits to break.

    I am thinking that I will use the bouncy seat again this time. Maybe in another room or even in the same room. DD was a really sound napper and could sleep through almost anything early on. Maybe this one will be the same way.

    Me too! I have no idea how this will all work out Smile

    But I do remember during DS's first few months that he was a heavy sleeper and it was just random noises (like a trashbag moving) that would startle and wake him up. Loud noises, people talking, music, etc didn't ever seem to bother him. Oh & we co-slept at nighttime, but DS always slept in his bassinet or crib during the daytime.

    Swing, bouncy, or bassinet.  Wherever I can get him/her to sleep.  I have an in home daycare, so it is going to be a challenge with the noise, but I had a five week old here do it just fine in the swing.  I figure LO will be about that age once I start back up, so hopefully it works

    My plan is to have no plans!

    A swing is a good option, plus, I have a sleepy wrap that I plan to use a lot this time that I didn't have last time!

    We have a two story house, and DD used to sleep a lot in the pnp, so I'll probably have this downstairs while DD is napping upstairs.

    I'm hoping that this baby is not as sensitive to noise!

    I also plan to play it by ear. But I will add to the pp's ideas the Bjorn or other baby carrier. I always found this to be a great napping spot because my hands were free.

    Noooo, I am so in denial about this stuff.  :P

    I'd like baby to sleep in the crib, but I'll be flexible depending on what kind of baby/sleeper s/he is.  My Audrey didn't like to sleep, period.  Vivienne is more of a typical sleeper, and was right from the start. 

    I will be more flexible to let baby sleep in a swing if that's what works.  I am going to TRY not to stress about noise and light as much, and hope this baby is easy going.

    If we're home, crib or bassinet(with video monitor). Otherwise, bucket car seat it is!
