I survived my first day at work! It stunk leaving her.

She ate normal amounts at normal intervals today (nurse at 6, 4 oz at
9:30, 4 oz at 1:15). So, she was hungry when I got home, and nursed
from 4:10 to 4:45. She pretty much demanded to nurse again at 5:15.
(We're bf now.) She was really upset with things that normally soothe
her - walking, rocking, paci, cold teether, shooshing, etc. Now, she's
very calm.
Anyone else have their LOs want to nurse a lot after returning to work?
Should I expect this every evening, or just until she adjusts? (Not
that I mind - It's nice to snuggle up with her!)
Re: XP: Working Moms - Marathon Nursing?
Mine also cluster feeds all evening when I get home from work.
The first couple weeks at day care DS ate more than he does no and would be frantically hungry at home with DH, often needing another 1/2 bottle until I got there 30 mins later. Then he would nurse frantically. He always cluster feeds at night so that wasn't different for us.
Since then he has calmed down a lot. We upped the ounces in each bottle so he only takes 4 now during the day instead of 5, he dropped the total amount consumed by about 5 ounces and he is usually content at home with DH until I get there. It's an adjustment for them, too, but it will get better.
this exactly. DS is home with DH and only eats between 8 and 12oz while I'm gone but then all he wants to do is eat once i'm home, but i do love the extra snuggle time.
That's funny. My DD only eats 8-10 ounces at daycare. I'm trying to get her to take more, so we'll see what the next few weeks bring.
