head cold and pregnant

I've had a head cold for a week now, and it keeps getting worse instead of better.  I've been taking a generic sudafed, evidently not working.  anything you guys took while pregnant that actually helped?

    Are you taking the PE stuff?  If so, that never worked for me.  Saline nasal spray/neti pot was the best route.  Sorry you're sick!  Could it be a sinus infection?  My current head cold felt AWFUL about 5-6 days in, but there's light at the end of the tunnel now; I was 100% convinced it was something that required antibiotics last week.  Ugh.  Feel better!

    I swear by the netti pot (with warm salt water) and sudafed 12-hour--the normal sudafed does nothing.

    Also, I'm pretty sure you can take mucinex DM.

    I can't do the Neti Pot.  I've tried but I must be an idiot b/c I just can't get it to work right!  Anyway, the saline spray (not the ocean mist one, the Ayr one in the canister) works the best for me.  I use it several times throughout the day.  Just keep spraying and blowing my nose until I get relief and then just keep blowing my nose to keep it from stuffing up again.  Also, gargling warm salt water in the morning and at night helps me too.  And a humidifier. I'm currently fighting off a cold or allergies or something right now too and this is my daily routine.  Sucks, but so far, it is keeping it from making me totally miserable.

    You can try Benadryl...it's safe. Even a kid's dose of 12.5 mg is helpful without as much side effects. If you come up with a medicine you want to try I have a specific drug book I can look up the safety for you (Medications and Mother's milk...it does pregnancy too).
