Anyone know if there is a diffference in the level of care between Bryn Mawr or Lakenuea? I know they both offer Level III NICUs and are both part of the Main Line Health System. Thanks!
I was supposed to deliver at The Birth Center (across the street from Bryn Mawr) and had to be transferred when DS's heart rate started doing something funny. I ended up with an unplanned C-section but everyone was great. I really loved my experience there, even if it wasn't part of my birth plan!
I don't think you can go wrong either way. We had a great experience with Lankenau but have friends that were thrilled with Bryn Mawr. The closer the better for you and you may want to just find an ob that you are comfortable with and go with her/his hospital. Good Luck!
I haven't delivered at either yet (I will at Lankenau) however, I have had in patient stays at both. Bryn Mawr was quite possibly the worst experience I have ever had. The night nurses were inattentive and the night aids were clueless. I would hope that their maternity is much better. Lankenau was a much more positive experience all around. I'm not sure what their med/surg floors say about their maternity floors, but after my surgical experience I would never consider delivering at Bryn Mawr
I've heard both are good, but I've heard some people haven't had great experiences at Bryn Mawr. I've never heard anyone say anything bad about Lankenau and that's where my OB delivers. I'm very happy we'll deliver there.
