She said a specialist will contact me this week. Did anyone else fail theres? And what should I be worried about b/c i'm worried about everything right now. I just want a healthy baby girl. I know I shouldn't be on google but of course I read way to much and now i'm freaking out more.

Re: Failed 3 hr glucose test
I just found out about a week and a half ago and meet with the endocrinologist on Thursday, so I have been doing the same thing as you and worrying myself sick about it while reading all the stuff on the internet!
One of the ladies on here mentioned that the high risk board has a lot of women with gestational diabetes, I haven't checked them out yet, but I plan to.
Good luck to you
It's going to be OK- I PROMISE! I was diagnosed at 24 weeks and am 32 today and I have been able to control my blood sugar with diet and exercise alone. My suggestion is that you go see a dietician as well as a nurse that can explain GD to you. it is nothing you did- it happens and is usually easily controlled. As you get further in your pregnancy- or depending on how your body tolerates the GD- you may have to do insulin. But trust me it really isn't that hard once you get used to it. I was TOTALLY overwelmed when I found out and got the monitor, etc. But now it is soo easy- you just have to be more planful about what you eat and when.
Don't stress yourself out- if it was something you needed to freak out about the dr wouldn't have called to tell you and they wouldn't wait. Check out the high risk board- a lot of GD ladies hang out there and you might find some of the posts helpful!
GL hun- it will be fine and your baby will be great!

I had GD, it is hard to get the diagnosis but I promise you it's not that bad. I was a 2x January mom and I'll say the worst part was being on the diet over the holidays! But you will get through this and be fine, and so will your babies.
The diet will vary some by person, but you'll be given an 'allowance' of carbs per meals and snacks. You'll eat several times through the day and try to always have protein with all carbs.
You probably will have some extra monitoring. I had bi-weekly non-stress tests and a biophysical profile u/s done at the end of the pregnancies. They may not let you go past your due date, depending on how well things are controlled.
2 a week...I spent a lot of time at my doc's office at the end
