We have a Cannon camera and it literally take 3-5 seconds from clicking the button to actually taking the pictures which wasn't too bad when DD was a baby but now she's running away and it's annoying. Can you recommend your extremely fast cameras please?

Ha! You're speaking greek....I'm technology challenged but DH isn't and he can't even find a setting to make it work. The camera is maybe a year old and was around $200 so nothing amazing. We tried a "rapid fire" setting and it took a bunch of pictures in a row but the focus wasn't great and they were kind of dark. I usually keep it on auto-focus and that's all I know. Sorry!
If you're just wanting something entry level that you can adjust settings on, I would suggest getting a Canon Rebel XS ($499 with kit lens). That'll get you where you can adjust exposure, shutter speed, etc.
I know nothing about good point and shoots, though.
You can also ask on the photography board.
I just wanted to add my Canon Rebel is refurbished. You can save $100 going that route.
