When to TTC #2

So I know that it is a completely individual thing but when did you start trying for #2? DH and I tried for 5 years before getting surprised to find out that we were PG with DS. DS is now 21 months and me having a sibling that was 10 years older than I was and having NOTHING in common with her wants to start trying for #2 here shortly. DH is on the fence with the idea...its not out of the question completely but he's not sure.

DH and I just started really trying this week. I was not on BC for almost a year and it took 4 cycles of tracking ovulation to get PG with DD. (My cycles are really irregular and last anywhere from 35-50 days). I have not been on BC since having DD but we've been "careful". Just this week I bought some ovulation predictor strips online and have started using them. DH and I work opposite schedules so it's not uncommon for us to go 2 weeks without having sex so we want to make sure.

I think we will start trying in January... I'm nervous/excited to have our kids close together.

We started trying when DS was 18 mos. It took us a few cycles, but I just got my BFP!! The kiddos will be just over 2.5 years apart.

I go back and forth about being ready. DH says he is ready. I would like to wait another year but always thought I would want them closer in age. It's nice to have more freedom to do things like we used to....as in going out and leaving DS for the night. And DS just started STTN so I don't want to give that up anytime soon!

DD will be 2 years, 4 months when #2 is born. I think about 2.5-3 years is a good age difference, but of course everyone sees it differently. I'm 2 years, 9 months younger than my brother and we've always been very close- I want my kids to have that too.?
