Preemies

Hello!

I don't know how I didn't find this board until now, but it is so nice to be able to relate to other baby stories. As much as my friends love and care about me, they will never understand the roller coaster of emotions my DH and I went through being in the NICU for 126 days after having had a 26 weeker because of PROM and no known cause.

We count our blessings daily!! Our son had Grade III IVH, ROP, retina detachment, PDA, hernia, ventilated 2x due to pneumonia, countless transfusions, surgery for broviac catheter placement, acid reflux, went home on O2 and a pulse/ox. He is now 2 years old and developing "normally." He even talks more than some of the other kids who are born full term around his birthday. He is the light of our lives and wouldn't change a thing about him.

I just have to say that I have been lurking for the last several weeks and I have cried and laughed along with the stories that have been posted. I look forward to getting to know everyone in this community!
