so im 38 weeks and since last night the baby def has not been as active ... i dont know if i should call the doc i def feel like shes lower but not moving nearly as muh .... what should i do

Re: 38 weeks kinda worried

  • I think movement is supposed to slow after 35 weeks because of space issues. However, if there is no movement, then that's a sign for concern. In any way, if you are concerned, I would try to drink water, etc and lay to see if it will move. If after trying this, and nothing happens, then I'd call my doctor. I always like to call to be sure, plus you will get the peace of mind.

LO responds to cat meows and my husbands haha...so that always works for me.

  • My OB told me that if I don't feel the baby move, drink some juice and lay on my side. I should be able to feel at least 10 movements in a 2 hr period. If not, I should call. I am still feeling movement after I eat, she seems pretty active in there!?
  • I wouldn't worry too much. Decreased movement is normal at this point. I would just try what PP's have suggested and if you don't feel adequate movement, then call your doctor.

  • (POST FROM 3-6 BOARD) I WAS NOT FEELING A LOT OF MOVEMENT, DESPITE THE SAYING THAT IT IS NORMAL, WENT TO L & D AND TOLD THEM, TURNED OUT ALL VITALS WERE FINE BUT AFTER SONOGRAM, BABY HAD NO AMNIOTIC FLUID LEFT AND WAS INDUCED IMMEDIATELY THAT DAY---NEVER HESITATE TO TELL THE DOCTOR--IT MAY SAVE YOUR BABY'S LIFE, MY BABY WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN INDUCED FOR ANOTHER WEEK IF I NEVER MENTIONED THIS WHEN I DID.....HTH  GOOD LUCK :
  • try loud music and something cold &/or sugary to drink too
