1st Trimester

When did you grow out of your pants?

I haven't even had my ultrasound yet - so I'm not sure how far along I am, but I assumed 6-7 weeks. I can't believe that over the weekend I feel like I gained two inches.

I have been a militant, healthy eater for the last three weeks since discovering that I was preggers. So I'm not worried about it being just extra pounds.

Could I be putting baby weight already? What week did you realize you were getting BIGGER!?!

Re: When did you grow out of your pants?

  • welcome to the world of bloat!  it's tons of fun!  a few weeks ago, my tighter fitting jeans were not comfortable any more and couldn't button them.  i got a belly band and have come to the conclusion that once bloat is gone, a baby belly will take it's place.  congrats on being pregnant!

  • i'm 7 weeks.... still in my regualr clothes....they are a little bit tight though
  • I made the mistake of washing my jeans this weekend, making them even tighter. I'm definitely suffering from bloat right now.

  • Yeah, your hormones from the pregnancy are changing your digestion and causing bloat. It's super fun, huh? ;)

I am 11 weeks today and still fitting in my pants fine. The jeans I am wearing today are a tad tight, but still fitting okay.

  • I can't fit into my tight jeans now.  Although, to be honest, they really didn't fit before.
  • With my daughter I was fine through out the first trimester.  Didn't need anything maternity.  I was even able to wear some regular pants until about 7 months, below my belly of course.  I didnt get extremely big. This time I'm going more for comfort than the world record to see how long I can stay in my pre pregnancy jeans.

So far, not a lot of bloat.  I've already ordered some cute maternity jeans for when I start hitting that mark.

  • With my son and also with this one I gained like 10 pounds and bloated up right off the bat! No idea why, I wasn't eating more food or anything...but my pants are tight already as well b/c it's like my hips expanded...that's how I knew I was PG this time even before testing since it was the same feeling with my son...everyone is different! Just invest in some comfy pants :)
  • I'm still fitting in most of my pants, with the exception of a few pairs of jeans.  Now, my bras are a completely different story...I need to get fitted for new one soon!

  • I wore my pre-pg pants until I was 21wks!  It was awesome.
  • My bloat comes and goes.  My pants are extremely tight today, which compelled me to buy a Be Band.  This happened last week.  One day my pants were super tight, then the next couple of days the bloat went down.
  • My pants pretty much don't fit anymore.  They are okayish in the morning but as the day goes on my bloat gets worse and I have to have them completely undone.

  • Each week less and less fit.  I'm down to two pairs of pants that I can wear to work!
  • My pants were tighter than normal beginning around 8 weeks, but I didn't need maternity pants until 13 weeks.

  • I had one pair of jeans that fit until around 23 weeks.  They were on the tight side, but they still fit. Wink

  • Im about 8 weeks and still in my normal clothes.  My pants are fine but I have noticed some of my tight cami-tanks getting a bit tighter.  The only bloat I'm really noticing is my face, which is usually the 1st thing to puff up a little on me when I get my period too so thats no surprise.

I swore no maternity clothes-hippy skirts and yoga pants only but I bought a super cute maternity tank yesterday-very greek goddess looking!  I'm getting so excited!  Cant wait to start showing!

  • I can "fit" into most of my jeans still (with the button undone) but feel much better in a size up. I have gained 2# already :(, with my last pregnancy I did not gain 2# until I was around 23-25 wks...I was also 20# heaver than I am now, though. I started this pregnancy 2# lighter than I did with my first...I guess I made up for those 2 fast! I show really fast (I think because of my combination of terrible stretch marks and bad separated ab muscles...it really leaves no support for my growing uterus). I had a full baby bump by 9 weeks last time around, not sure what is going to happen this go round. I feel like I have a slight bump now, and my bloating has gotten much better already but still slightly there??? I guess time will tell...
  • It varies by day.  I'm almost 12 weeks and I swear I'm bigger today than I was over the weekend.  And ditto the pp that said her pants fit in the morning, but they're way tight at the end of the day.  I got a couple bands at Motherhood and they've been life-savers.
  • I'm still in regular pants. Probably will only last a 1-2 wks at this rate though.

  • I can still wear all my regular clothes, but I like wearing maternity pants and skirts because it gives me a little more room in case I get bloated at the end of the day.  My clothes were a little tight until about 10/11 weeks, but then the constant bloat kinda disappeared and my m/s got worse so I lost weight.

  • BLOAT- I fit into my pre pregnancy pants fine till about 15 weeks, then I had to either loop them with a band or maternity pants...

  • I can't stand anything semi tight or tight since I tend to get super queasy.

There fore I was in maternity pants at 6-7 weeks, they were big so I wore a belly band to help keep them up.

  • im a little over 8 wks and my jeans are def getting tight. that could also be because the only thing that i can stomach is pizza and anything carb related....
  • I don't remember when I started noticing the bloat and pooch. ?But I started feeling uncomfortable in my work pants around 9wks and was walking around with unbuttoned pants hidden by long tops. ? I finally gave in and bought my first maternity pants at 11wks.

  • I started wearing maternity pants about a week ago.  I decided I would rather be comfortable then stubborn.
  • I'm just barely starting to grow out of mine now (work pants, they're not so low on the waist). I am pretty sure its just bloat though.
  • I don't fit into a few pairs of jeans as of recently.  My hips have changed and my bloat make it harder for me to where the style.  I bought a pair of maternity pants the other day and wore them Friday.  They were WONDERFUL.  I have the bella band but I move around so much in my job that it didn't really stay in place when I was 6 weeks and not now at almost 11.  I don't find it comfortable.  The maternity pants I have do have a string to make them smaller and larger as I grow so hopefully they will continue to be fairly comfortable.
  • My pants have been extremely tight around the waist since about eight weeks...and I've lost weight!  My hips have shrunken, but I've been wearing some hand-me-down maternity pants because my pants are so uncomfortable around the waist.  The best trick I have found is to wrap a rubber band around the pants button and loop it through the button hole to give some extra room.
