belly button ring is out now

I could not get it out on my own, so I had to go to the piercing place and have them take it out with the pliers. Now I feel much more comfortable, but it looks so weird to me.

There was really no reason for me to wear any kind of pregnancy piercing. After 12 years, that hole is not going to close up in the next six months.

IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.

  • Oh, you're lucky! I've had mine for about (6) years, but it closed up in 2-1/2 months! Oh well, I guess I didn't really need it anymore.

  • I had one for 8 years and it closed up right away during my first pregnancy.  Turns out it didn't really matter though because I got my one and only stretch mark right there where the hole is.  Apparently, the piercing creates scar tissue, which doesn't stretch as well as regular skin.  Anyway, the stretch mark made it too ugly to have pierced anyway!

  • I took mine out during my first pregnancy...I've got a weird stretch mark between the two holes that won't go away. It's naaaaaasty.

I knew there was a reason I didn't pierce my belly button!

Wait, I remember now, it's because I never had a belly that would look good with a piercing.

  • I took mine out last week and my stomach still looks strange to me when I look at it in the mirror, but my stomach does feel way more comfortable.

I wish I could go back in time and smack myself at 16 years old in Cancun. Confused

  • I took mine out a little after I found out. I decided that it was time. Now I can look forward to the disgusting stretch mark that will come from it =P

  • This is funny! I've had mine since I was 16, so it's just kind of "part of me." Granted, I planned on taking it out a little later when it looked awkward, but Friday night, as I was giving myself my Lovenox inject, my husband walked in, laughed and said, "Love, the belly button ring needs to go. You're 30 and pregnant." And then he walked out. I just sat there laughing, because though he's right, I feel like I don't want to give it up yet. But I know that the time is near. I just want to put it off until I have to.
