3rd Trimester

Measuring 2 weeks ahead! AH!

Had my appt. today.  My baby boy is measuring 2 weeks ahead! So he is supposed be 31 weeks and is measuring 33 weeks.  Anyone else experience this???

Maybe that would explain how huge I am?

They also took blood again :(  She is think I may be starting Gestational Diabiates even though I passed my test.

They put me on the GD diet of 1800 calories and said I have to stay on it even if I don't have GD to slow the my baby's growth down.

I am so sad.  No more chocolate, no more Starbucks. My life is over....Crying  LOL.

Re: Measuring 2 weeks ahead! AH!

  • I was measuring ahead around the same time as you, but it eventually went back to normal. I am now measuring 37 weeks...

  • They want to SLOW your baby's growth down?

I've been measuring 2 weeks ahead - but my doctor isn't concerned. She'd rather him be ahead than behind.  Plus.... measurements aren't an exact science.  It's really all averages!

  • I'm actually measuring over 3 weeks ahead...and have been since 20 weeks.  Don't freak out.  Measurements aren't always accurate.

  • Was this on u/s or fundal height measurement? My doc said as long as fundal height is within 2 weeks it's no big deal.
  • I had a growth ultrasound this morning.

Amniotic fluid is at the high end of the normal range. His head is at 34.5ish weeks, legs/arms/belly is around 33 weeks and I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow. I don't have GD. Even with all of that, they told me all was fine. There is still time for him to slow down and or equal out.

  • Fundal measurement....I have my growth U/S in two weeks so I guess that will be the real determining factor.

Still sucks though- they cut all my sugar out ... Angry

  • My baby was measuring two weeks ahead at 24 weeks, but I had another ultrasound at 36 weeks and he/she was measuring right on track. I wouldn't stress about it.
  • I was measuring 3 weeks ahead.  Growth u/s at 35 weeks showed that DS was a little over 7lbs.  I was induced at 38 weeks due to high BP and pre-e.

DS was 9lbs 5oz and 21.5in at 38 weeks.  All I can say is- thank gawd they induced.

  • mrs. jenni- wow! that is a big boy.  my dh was around that weight when he was born so I am getting a little freaked. haha.

maybe I will go early.  I will find out at the growth u/s.  Thanks for the info.

  • I really don't get the whole measuring thing. I started out measuring 2 weeks behind and ended up being 4 wks behind by the time I delivered. Owen was still 7lbs 10 oz (average size) and they were telling me he was going to be on the smaller side. I also was not expecting a baby that big since I am petite....I didn't believe them when they told me how much he weighed!
