Pediatricians Willing to do an Alternate Vaccination Schedule?

We live in the Las Colinas/Irving area and want to do a slightly modified vaccination schedule. Anyone know of a practitioner that would accommodate our wishes?

  • Dr. Bain in Frisco will do a delayed schedule. I'm not sure of anyone else that may be closer to you.

this is who we go to also.

i'll say that we really dont use her for sick visits. but just for vaxes and tests... her office is busy and rarely can you get an appt right away. but she's the only one i know who'll vax like we say.

I don't care for Dr. Bain but I'm not willing to change pedis until we are past MMR which won't be for another 6 months. I was there last week and when the front office staff asked if I was ok seeing Christie for our 2 year appt I said damn straight. I lurve Christie.

missjanel... If you're in the McKinney area... our practice (Pediatric Healthcare Associates) is very flexible about vaccinations.  We do an alternate schedule and they've never batted an eye or tried to sway us another way.

We see Dr. Sutton and she is awesome, but they're all great.

Thanks! I will check into that office. We live in North Dallas south of 635 but distance is not an issue. When we started seeing Dr. Bain I was driving from Kessler Park to Frisco every month to vax DS. I'm in McKinney practically everyday anyway.

It hasn't been an issue with Dr. Bain lately since everytime DS gets sick it's on a weekend. We either end up at the emergency room or Acute Kids Care. I swear my kid never gets sick Monday through Friday. But Dr. Bain always acts like I'm overreacting. Sometimes I think she's on the bump "what you mean your kid isn't talking yet?".

its so funny bc the vibe i get from her is always "we'll worry about that later". when i want something done now.

we have a clinic that we go to (and have for years) that do all our sick kid appts. its nice bc if one gets sick and i take them in and get meds - she'll rx for the rest of the family (if we get it too) without a visit.

  • We got to pediatric associates of Dallas (www.padnewsletter.com) and see Dr. foster. He is awesome. We do a delayed vaccine schedule with some eliminated all together. He never questions what I want and will give the vaccines I request. I love him and the practice. They also have an office off the tollway in Plano.
  • It's a little bit of a hike, but I have been so impressed with Dr. Frank McGehee with Cook Children's in Ft Worth.  He's easy to get appointments right away, and is very thorough and even calls himself to check on LO or relay test results.  Also, he is fine with the delayed vaccine schedule.  He has like 5 or 6 kids of his own and reminds me of Dr. Sears LOL!

  • We are going to use Dr. Carla Cole of Pediatriacs and adoloscent Medicine in Garland.  She was great in the interview about an altered scheduled and told us which vaccines she felt we could skip and which ones she thought were important.  What I liked best about her, is after she told us which ones she felt was important, she said, "You can still choose to skip those vaccines and there is nothing wrong with it"

She also has extended clinic hours until 9 pm during the week and open 7 days a week.

we see another doc in this practice, and are happy with him/them.

in dallas proper, dr. agrawal and inwood village pediatrics will also work with you on an alt schedule.
