Day 1

It's a little bit different than the 3DPT method and it worked well for us today.

We took off DD's diaper as soon as she woke up. She started going pee on the floor a half hour later but we were watching her like a hawk and managed to get her on the potty for half of the pee. We celebrated like crazy and made a huge deal about it - she got to flush it down the big potty and then she helped us clean up the pee that was on the floor.

An hour or so later we were playing very close to one of her potties and she stopped all of a sudden, sat down on the potty and pooped. We were shocked and delighted - I had no expectation of her pooping on the potty so soon.

We put a diaper on her for naptime and she woke up with it a little wet.

She took herself to the potty after dinner and went pee again. Huge celebration and high fives but I am really worried about the fact that she only peed 3 times today!! She has had a cold and sore throat and obviously isn't drinking nearly enough... we were really trying to push the fluids today but didn't have much luck. Tomorrow I think we will try lots of popsicles...

She's in a diaper tonight.

Anyway - that's our summary! I enjoy reading everyone else's stories so I thought I would post mine. :o)

    Thanks for sharing! That is great that she sat down to poop on the potty on Day 1. I've heard that usually takes a while.

    Tomorrow is Day 1 for us, and I'm scared! We aren't really doing a specific method (maybe that's a mistake) but just a combination of all we've read. We'll see how it goes!

    Awesome!!!! Our experience was very similar to yours.  I was shocked when dd went and sat on the potty to poop the first time.  My dd doesn't get juice, so that was a real treat to her.... I gave her diluted juice to drink and she sucked it down causing her to pee more.
