Re: recommend your carseat!

  • For infants, we loved the snugride 32. It was easy to use, easy to keep clean, the extra bases were super handy and it worked well with my uppababy stroller. No complaints. :)

Now we have Britax Boulevards. DS likes it and doesn't fuss when we put him in it. Although that could speak more to DS and not the chair. :)

Edit: just wanted to add that my mom has the graco my ride 65 in her car, and it's super nice. And less than the britax. And it has cupholders, which I think is super convenient. in the britax, I usually just put DS's sippy between his legs if he's not drinking it.

  • If you can afford one, this has been AWESOME in our tiny car.

Combi Coccoro Convertible Car Seat - Hazelnut

Check out the video of 3 in the back of a small car, I didn't believe it could work like that until I got mine and installed it. They also have a good selection of colors.

ETA:  for an infant  carrier style the Snugride was fabulous, the old version with #1, new version with #2 and we will stick to it for this one as well.

  • We used The Graco Safeseat for # 1 and will be using it for #2. I think its pretty much the same as what Graco calls the Snugride 35 now, for convertible seats I really like the Evenflo Triumph advanced and The First Years Truefit. We have the Truefit in my truck and the Evenflo in Dh's car.

  • I loved my Graco Snugride! When DD was 10 months we moved her to a convertible car seat (Combi coccoro). I am still not sure if we will use the sungride again or get another coccoro.

  • infant seat: i love my chicco keyfit 30.  very easy to use, durable and comfy for DS.

convertible: we have the evenflo triumph advanced and have been very pleased with it.

    DS - June 2009
    DD - February 2011
  • For an infant seat we use the Chicco Keyfit 30.  No complaints, other than being a bit heavy, but we rarely carried it around much.  Super easy to install.

For DD's convertible seat we have a Britax Boulevard in my car and a Graco My Ride in DH's truck.  What I love about the Boulevard is the harness adjustment.  You just turn a knob on the side of the seat.  Most carseats, including most Britax seats, require the straps to be re-threaded which usually means having to take the seat out.  I didn't appreciate this feature until I was installing the My Ride.  But the My Ride is still a great seat and the one our car seat installer recommends after Britax.

  • We love our Graco Snugride, though my SIL recently replaced hers with the Combi and I think it's a great seat as well.

For a convertible, we love our Britax Marathon.

DD1 is now in a Graco Nautilus 3 in 1 that may be my favorite seat so far.

    DD1 - 12.25.05
    (m/c 1.17.07, m/c 5.15.07)
    DS - 03.15.08
    DD2 - 12.03.09
    DD3 - 3.28.11
  • We have the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 30/30 infant seat.  I love it, but it's heavy as all hell.

Our convertibles that get used in our cars are Britax Boulevards, but to be honest, the Sunshine Kids Radian might be the way to go because they rear face for a longer time, both weight and height.  They also go up to 80 pounds, so you'll never need a booster, which doesn't have the 5 point harness, which is safest..  Fortunately, I have a peanut boy who will probably RF in the Boulevard until he's 4 given his size now!  And the Boulevard goes FF up to 65 pounds, so I think that should take him to the end of his car seat time as well.

  • I highly reccommend the Chicco infant carseat

And for a convertible we love our Graco My Ride 65's

  • We have this Safety 1st travel system. Easy to use, and I don't have any complaints. It's also softer than most of the Graco seats I looked at.

I love our chicco keyfit 30. Very easy to install, kinda heavy but not horrible (I stopped taking the car seat out of the car when she was around 4-5 months old), and the best part is it has a 30 pound weight limit when most are 20 pounds.  DD was 20 pounds at 9 months and not ready for a convertible.

I still have her in the keyfit because she is under the weight limit, and her feet don't touch the end. I will be getting Britax Marathon next and keeping it rear facing until 2 years old.

  • I have a Britax Roundabout 50 that I like, and a Britax Boulevard that I LOVE....like can't say enough about it.  Only problem is, it's BIG.  If you have tiny cars, you may want to go with something else.  For an infant seat, we used the Graco Safeseat which has since been replaced w/the snugride 35.  Also, Albeebaby.com has awesome deals on car seats.  I got my stroller from them (BJ City Micro--also awesome but not for newborns since it doesn't recline all the way) and they were great to deal with.
