So DS was 8 lbs 2 oz at birth and has consistently gained 1/2 lb a week (except for the first few weeks of course). Everyone keeps telling me "Oh wow! He's such a big boy!" He's really not, though. He's always been between the 50th and 70th percentile on weight. He might be a little tall, but that's about it. I think he's totally normal. Everyone acts like he's a freak because he weighs 14 lbs now. Anyone else get this??
Re: I'm tired of "He's a big boy!"
Shoot my second weighs almost 20 lbs (his big brother only weighs 27) so I get it all.the.time. It doesn't really bother me because people aren't trying to be mean.
I love squishy babies and your LO is such a cutie so try to ignore people:)
lol this except it is my 2 y/o and he weighs 50lbs while his 10 y/o brother weighs 60. lol I have a feeling DS3 is going to take after his 1st big brother. He is 3 months and only weighs 11 lbs.

Both my kids are big and always have been. My 2 y.o. is the height/weight of the average 4 y.o. I'm now more used to the comments, but they are annoying!
When DD1 was a baby, I remember some friends asking me "Umm, is your doctor OK with DD1's weight? She's so huge!" I wanted to slug them.
I get that a lot too, but he is a big boy. at 3 months he already weighs 15.4 lbs. but he is only in the 75th percentile for both. (he was 7.4 at birth). hey, the bigger they are the healthier they are!
So, you think you've got it bad in the "he's a big boy" department?
DS was 11lb at birth. ELEVEN. He's consistently been in the 90-95th percentiles for everything, head, height, and weight. So he's actually really proportional and therefore NOT chubby, he's just a big baby.
I've gotten it since day one and probably will until he's an adult.

LO is in 97% of both weight and height, and I LOVE it! I had feeding issues at first (my breast milk came in late), but LO caught up and loves eating! Nothing wrong with a big baby! There's just more to love!
