New to The Bump

1st pregnancy and new to TheBump

Hi. I'm 29 years old and have been married to my awesome (most of the time...however not lately...hello hormones!) husband for only 3 months. We were told it might be hard for us to conceive so we got to it right away. Believe it or not it took only one shot! Currently I'm almost 7 weeks and am definately feeling pregnant. Does anyone else have constant switches in body temps? I'm either super hot or freezing. Also, I have the worst restless legs at night! I had issues before but this is almost painful. Also, I can't wear jeans anymore already due to insane-o bloating and my boobs grew overnight. All of these amazing changes but we decided to wait to share the news until the end of the 1st trimester. So people are just going to think I'm putting on my "winter fur"...we live in MN so this is completely normal (or at least for me it is). Also, I just recently got laidoff from my job. Feeling pretty down and scared about finding a good job before I start to show. I'm very grateful for a website with so much support! It's been difficult to keep my chin up so I'm very thankful for TheBump! Thanks for listening!

  • Although im only almost 6 weeks, I will tell you that I am the same way with my body temp and my legs are also restless through the night! Take it easy and don't stress! Im also not telling anyone till im at least 12 weeks in fear of losing him/her cause I have had a miscarriage. Just be happy that you are not working and take a time out for yourself while looking. Good luck!!

  • Thanks for the advice. You're right...I need to stop stressing about things and let them happen in their own time. I'm sorry to hear abou your miscarriage. That must have been devastating! I can't even begin to think what I would do in that situation. I'm just trying to do the best I can. Just remember that miscarriages happen spontaneously all the time and most often from no fault of the mother. We tend to beat ourselves up quite a bit (or at least I do...). Thanks for the support and best of luck to you as well!

P.S. I was starting to feel like a freak with my hot/colds and spazzy legs! Hope that mellows out soon :)

  • We are women! We can help but to stress and worry about certain things! Or everything on certain days.. Haha. It was very devestating. I was so hurt. Thanks for talking with me and we shall keep up to date on eachothers pregnancys! I hope it mellows out also.. Haha but it will all be worth it in the end! Im so excited!!
  • Congrats on your bfp! That is so exciting! I got mine this past monday! I am about 5 weeks, and still don't feel pregnant! We were not going to tell everyone until Christmas but decided to tell our families at Thanksgiving because we want their support and would tell them if something unthinkable happened. My legs were driving me crazy last night, I had to get out of the bed and stretch. Come on over to the 1st tri-board!
  • Hey Ladies... No idea what BFP means... new to this whole thing. Just turned 20 October 3rd... supposed to be going into the Air Force soon... but I think I'm trading one dream for another! My period is a week late! And I'm soooooo scared. I have all the symptoms: bloating, fatigue, mood swings, body temperature changes, mood swings, etc. I FEEL pregnant...but I have taken 2 tests (Clear blue digital) and they have both said "Not Pregnant." I bought an equate test from Wal-mart, going to try that in the morning... I just can't understand how it's negative and yet I still haven't started!?

Anyways, Congratulations to you both. :] I guess I'll find out in the morning if we'll be going through this together.

    H&H 9 months.
