So I went to Target this weekend to get more bibs. I just wanted plain old, simple bibs. But everything out there says something on it. Think: "Cutest Cowgirl", "Daddy's Little Princess", "Love Me", "Cutie Pie", etc. I don't like to speak for my DD. She is cute enough, she doesn't need to tell anyone "Hug Me" or that she's a "Biker Chick." Even the sleep sacks we have say "Adorable" or "Baby Girl." Sorry, venting, but geez. Can't we just keep it simple? I might have to take up sewing...
Re: Annoying: Sayings on clothes
Haha... I jsut posted something similar on my local board about baby clothing in general...
It drives me nuts how most of it has some sort of animal/baby pattern on it
BRU has a 10 pack or something that are all just plain, different colours, but nothing dumb on them.
I totally hear you. MIL bought him one tht has all these "rules" written on it. I HATE it. It is so whiny. eg. rule 1. I get what I want when I want it rule 2. give me give me give me etc all the rules are like that. I know that he can't read it but I just cant' believe she thought it was cute. It's akin to little girl pants that say princess on the butt, why are we starting this behaviour so early? Why are we making it cute to be bad? gah
agreed. i think DS has maybe 3 things that don't have puppies on them. i love dogs, but i am getting sick of puppies because of his clothes!
also, my BFF sent him a bunch of disney character clothes (love her & am so appreciative) but i can hardly bear to put him in the tigger onesie that says "i'm the favorite." or the other one that says "chick magnet." it feels so wrong!
This is the only one, I was okay with DS wearing. I exchanged all the other saying shirts, character clothes or in took the patches off.
I agree about the sayings - my least favorite are the grandma ones where it says "what happens at grandma's stays at grandma's" - um, no.

I agree the sayongs are out of control! I am about to get one that says "I'm a girl" though because she has been called a boy a few times, even when her clothing is screaming girl. Ugh I feel bad correcting people all the time.
I hate characters on clothing too. Why can't they just wear plain shirts/cute patterns or pants? geeze!
The worst is all the crap that says "DIVA" or "Diva in training..."
blech. Girl clothing is worse than boys, IMO. Everything inexpensive says "pretty girl" or "I love daddy" or "princess"
Hey,we have to teach them to objectify women early, or they may never learn!?
